WWE: With All These Injured Wrestlers, Who Will Fill the Voids in the Company?
The WWE is beginning to look more like a MASH unit. Top superstars suffering serious and debilitating injuries is nothing new, but the injury report for the WWE continues to grow and it an alarming rate.
With Randy Orton being the latest on the list who will be out of commission with a back injury, WWE management and creative teams must be scrambling to fill the voids and develop new angles that will continue to bring in the crowds.
That is why it is shocking that some officials within the company feel that CM Punk should have his WWE Title taken away because he cannot keep up ratings while remaining the champion.

Note to the WWE: injuries and bad writing are having an effect on ratings. Punk, the most popular wrestler in the business today, is not a one-man gang of sorts. If anything, he has become the most important part of the company-more significant than the golden boy, John Cena.
So what happens now? Sin Cara, Christian, Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio are all on the mend. That is a major chunk of the talent pool.
Does a Rob Van Dam come back to the WWE from TNA and light up the night or does Samoa Joe bring his bad-ass attitude to the ring and cause all kinds of havoc? Does management dip into Florida and snatch up the likes of Lucky Cannon, Seth Rollins and Bo Rotundo?
And would it make sense to look at other talents within the company? Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd and of course, the man who has slipped through the cracks and has become “Mr. Irrelevant,” Drew McIntyre?
Does Tyler Reks have a place her and could he be a “heel” who is kind of like the Caveman or Bounty Hunter and runs through his opponents?
There are many angles the WWE can play with here. Not all work and not all are ready to be hatched. Each could work in time, but right now, time is not what this company has.
The reinvention of Chris Jericho could not have happened at a better time, but that is just a small piece of the puzzle. Other wrestlers need to step up. New heroes need to be introduced. New feuds fostered.
But until someone is willing to grab the torch, then it won’t happen.
And while the ideas continue to be bantered about, the injury list could continue to grow.
