Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups: Sleepers Who May Still be Available

Zach BuckleyDec 8, 2023

In most fantasy football leagues, the regular season will come to a close during the NFL's Week 14.

So, if your fantasy hopes still need a lift, this is your last chance to deliver it.

Let's not belabor the buildup any longer, then, and just dive right into three potential pickups—all rostered in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues—who deserve your attention on the waiver wire.

Noah Brown, WR, Houston Texans (49 Percent Rostered)

Tank Dell's season-ending fibula fracture was, objectively speaking, an absolute bummer.

It was also an opportunity creator.

With Dell out of the Texans' pass-catching mix, the door is wide open for Noah Brown to again emerge as one of C.J. Stroud's primary options. The two worked fantasy magic earlier this season, connecting 13 times (on 14 targets) between Weeks 9 and 10 for 325 yards and a touchdown.

If Brown establishes himself as Houston's No. 2 receiver, he could be worthy of weekly placement in your flex spot if not one of your wide receiver slots.

Gardner Minshew, QB, Indianapolis Colts (25 Percent Rostered)

In a perfect world, you wouldn't be streaming quarterbacks this time of year, but fantasy football rarely plays out in ideal fashion.

So, if that's the hand you've been dealt, take a long look at Gardner Minshew. He just torched the Tennessee Titans for 312 yards and two touchdowns his last time out, and he just might stay hot against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that's seemingly running on fumes.

"The matchup this week could help to elevate mustache mania into the borderline QB1 conversation," FantasyPros' Derek Brown wrote. "Since Week 8, the Bengals have dissolved into a bottom-three pass defense, allowing the highest yards per attempt."

Minshew has multiple playmakers around him, plus the arm talent to take advantage of them. He could easily outscore several weekly fantasy starters at the position.

Elijah Moore, WR, Cleveland Browns (48 Percent Rostered)

Grabbing a piece of a Joe Flacco-led offense admittedly doesn't sound too enticing in 2023, but the veteran quarterback aired it out plenty during his Cleveland debut. If he's going to keep firing off passes—he let 44 fly on Sunday—he's going to grant fantasy-relevance to at least one of his pass-catchers.

Elijah Moore proved that in Week 13, and based on the high volume of targets he was seeing even before that, he might keep proving it through this stretch run.

Sunday marked Moore's fourth consecutive game with seven-plus targets, as a season-high 12 passes went his way in all. Amari Cooper left that game early, potentially elevating Moore's involvement, but Cooper remains in concussion protocol, so he could be absent again. Even if Cooper is cleared in time to play, Moore's role in this offense isn't going away.

His yardage totals rarely erupt, but he's raising his fantasy floor, particularly in point-per-reception leagues. He's had 18 receptions over the past four games—one went for a score—and better than 40 receiving yards in each of them.
