The San Francisco 49ers avenged their NFC Championship loss to the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday, defeating the conference leaders, 42-19, in a one-sided beatdown.

Brock Purdy, injured in their first encounter and unable to play beyond the first offensive series, threw up four touchdowns and 314 yards on a leaky Eagles pass defense.

Deebo Samuel showed out, touching the ball seven times and finding the endzone on tree of them while piling up 138 total yards.

Christian McCaffrey reached 93 yards and scored once while the defense held Philadelphia to 46 total rushing yards.

The Niners simply executed better than their opponents, who committed no turnovers but were not nearly as efficient with the opportunities that they had.

The 49ers are set up to go on a late-season run, with only one more match-up against a team over .500 in the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day and what could be a very high-stakes divisional showdown with the Rams in Week 18.

If the same team that showed up Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia takes the field for the rest of the season, there is no reason San Francisco cannot run the table and enter the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts took a big shot at one point and was evaluated for a concussion before returning to the game. He would go on to complete 26/48 passes for 298 yards and a touchdown.

The lack of a run game stunted the Eagles' offense and cost them a chance to firmly entrench themselves in the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
