Fantasy Football Week 13 Rankings: Projections to Love and Matchups to Exploit
Fantasy football managers are up against the clock with the NFL rolling through Week 13 of the 2023 season.
Most leagues will start their playoffs in Week 15, so if you haven't secured a ticket to the postseason party yet, time is ticking.
Let's dive right in, then, with a look at our top-10 rankings and a matchup to exploit at each of the four skill positions.
Quarterback
1 of 4
Top 10
1. Jalen Hurts, PHI (vs. SF)
2. Patrick Mahomes, KC (at GB)
3. C.J. Stroud, HOU (vs. DEN)
4. Tua Tagovailoa, MIA (at WAS)
5. Brock Purdy, SF (at PHI)
6. Justin Herbert, LAC (at NE)
7. Trevor Lawrence, JAX (vs. CIN)
8. Russell Wilson, DEN (at HOU)
9. Kyler Murray, ARI (at PIT)
10. Sam Howell, WAS (vs. MIA)
Matchup to exploit: Brock Purdy at Philadelphia Eagles
Purdy has been the QB7 over the past three weeks, per FantasyPros, and he's completed at least 70 percent of his passes in five consecutive contests. He executes the system with precision and takes full advantage of all the playmakers around him.
If San Francisco is going to get avenge its loss in the NFC Championship, it needs Purdy to capitalize on the fact Philadelphia has allowed the second-most fantasy points to this position, per Yahoo. The Eagles have already allowed five different quarterbacks—including Mac Jones—to throw for more than 300 yards.
Projected stats: 282 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 18 rushing yards
Running Back
2 of 4
Top 10
1. Christian McCaffrey, SF (at PHI)
2. Alvin Kamara, NO (vs. DET)
3. Austin Ekeler, LAC (at NE)
4. Travis Etienne, JAX (vs. CIN)
5. Rachaad White, TB (vs. CAR)
6. Kyren Williams, LAR (vs. CLE)
7. Jahmyr Gibbs, DET (at NO)
8. Zack Moss, IND (at TEN)
9. Breece Hall, NYJ (vs. ATL)
10. Bijan Robinson, ATL (at NYJ)
Matchup to exploit: Rachaad White vs. Carolina Panthers
White has a lot more than a great matchup going for him. He's been the highest-scoring running back in standard leagues over the past four weeks. During this stretch, he's tallied 64 carries for 254 yards and three touchdowns, plus 14 receptions on 16 targets for another 131 yards and a score.
While he may not need a great matchup, he'll get one anyway. The Panthers have allowed the third-most points to the position and just let Derrick Henry rumble for 76 yards and a couple scores.
Projected stats: 17 rushes for 92 yards, four receptions for 31 yards, two touchdowns
Wide Receiver
3 of 4
Top 10
1. Tyreek Hill, MIA (at WAS)
2. Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET (at NO)
3. Keenan Allen, LAC (at NE)
4. A.J. Brown, PHI (vs. SF)
5. Michael Pittman Jr., IND (at TEN)
6. Tank Dell, HOU (vs. DEN)
7. Brandon Aiyuk, SF (at PHI)
8. Deebo Samuel, SF (at PHI)
9. Chris Olave, NO (vs. DET)
10. Mike Evans, TB (vs. CAR)
Matchup to exploit: Tyreek Hill at Washington Commanders
Hill's numbers are routinely ridiculous. His Week 12 work was statistically exceptional (nine catches on 12 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown), but it didn't register as exceptionally notable, since he's made greatness his expectation.
He goes off almost every game, and this week should be no different. Only the Eagles have given up more fantasy points to wide receivers than the Commanders.
Projected stats: 10 receptions for 131 yards, two touchdowns
Tight End
4 of 4
Top 10
1. Travis Kelce, KC (at GB)
2. George Kittle, SF (at PHI)
3. Sam LaPorta, DET (at NO)
4. David Njoku, CLE (at LAR)
5. Evan Engram, JAX (vs. CIN)
6. Trey McBride, ARI (at PIT)
7. Dalton Schultz, HOU (vs. DEN)
8. Pat Freiermuth, PIT (vs. ARI)
9. Taysom Hill, NO (vs. DET)
10. Logan Thomas, WAS (vs. MIA)
Matchup to exploit: Evan Engram vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Engram's stat sheet isn't the most exciting you'll find, as his game log lacks both a touchdown catch and a 100-yard performance. Still, there aren't a ton of tight ends who see as much volume as he gets—82 targets in 11 games—so the potential for excitement is always there.
Maybe this will be the game he gets loose. After all, he's facing a Bengals defense that's given up the second-most fantasy points the position and has allowed a tight end to post 70-plus receiving yards in four of its last five games.
Projected stats: Seven receptions for 77 yards, one touchdown
