College Football Odds Week 14: Early Locks and Best Bets on the Schedule
The Texas Longhorns quietly thrived in the shadow of the College Football Playoff for the last three weeks.
Texas used defensive performances that got better by the week to land the role of favorite in the Big 12 Championship Game.
Steve Sarkisian's side is expected to beat the Oklahoma State Cowboys to at least have a shot of pushing up into the top four from its No. 7 ranking.
Texas' defense played well lately, but its offense may have to finish off the Big 12 title on Saturday afternoon.
Oklahoma State has been inconsistent at times this season, but the Cowboys have one of the best running backs in the country in Ollie Gordon II and it eclipsed the 40-point mark in four of its last five wins.
Points could also fly on to the scoreboard in the first game of championship week, as the Liberty Flames and their high-flying offense take on the New Mexico State Aggies in the Conference USA Championship Game.

The Big 12 Championship Game has the potential to be one of the most fun contests of championship weekend.
Oklahoma State comes into AT&T Stadium off back-to-back 40-point performances in which Ollie Gordon ran for over 100 yards.
The Cowboys can score points on Texas if Gordon finds holes in the Longhorns front seven and Alan Bowman delivers a few key throws.
OK State will not feel any pressure since Texas is the two-touchdown favorite and the Big 12's CFB Playoff hopeful.
That should allow the Cowboys to play looser, and that might even mean they throw in a trick play or not for big gains.
Texas just turned in its highest point total of the season against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Quinn Ewers got three wide outs over 40 yards through the air and the Longhorns ran for 302 yards.
OK State is typically known for its strong defense, but the Cowboys let up 64 points in the last two weeks to a pair of Big 12 newcomers.
Each offense can play to its strengths to reach 24-27 points, and if that happens, the over is in good shape.
New Mexico State at No. 20 Liberty (Over 54)

The Liberty Flames scored over 40 points in five of their last six games.
The incredible offensive run could continue at home on Friday in the Conference USA Championship Game against the New Mexico State Aggies.
Liberty put up 33 points and 526 total yards on the Aggies in their first meeting this season on September 9.
The Flames' offense has only gotten better since then behind quarterback Kaidon Slater and running back Quinton Cooley.
Salter and Cooley's big-play ability helped Liberty consistently score a high number of points. They should once again be the stars of the Flames offense.
Liberty's offensive success is the key to the over hitting because it would force NMSU to take some risks in an attempt to keep pace with the Flames.
Three of NMSU's last four games had fewer than 42 points, so if the Aggies enforce their style on the game, the contest will likely go under.
It is hard to imagine anyone stopping Liberty's offense right now, especially at home in a conference title game where the emotions will be running high.
Liberty also has incentives to run up the score to impress the CFB Playoff selection committee. The Flames need to finish ahead of the AAC champion in the final rankings to earn the Group of Five berth into the New Years' Six.
