Updated 2024 NFL Draft Order After Sunday's Week 12 Results
Two of the three worst teams in the NFL will have a franchise-altering decision to make in April.
The Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots are both in line to make top-three selections in the 2024 NFL draft. Those positions could lead to new quarterbacks.
Arizona is in the tougher spot of the two franchises because it has to figure out whether or not to keep Kyler Murray.
New England appears more than ready to move on from Mac Jones, who was once again benched on Sunday.
The Patriots could be the first team on the draft board with a quarterback need depending on what the Chicago Bears are looking for.
Chicago owns the Carolina Panthers' first-round pick, which as of Sunday, is the No. 1 overall selection.
The Bears need a loss on Monday night to the Minnesota Vikings to put themselves in a great position to have a pair of top-four picks.

Arizona, New England Closing in on Top Three Picks
2 of 3
Arizona and New England once again lost on Sunday.
The Patriots' defeat to the New York Giants was more consequential to the 2024 NFL draft order because New York earned its fourth win and moved up to the No. 6 selection.
Bill Belichick's team is expected to join the Cardinals in the double-digit loss club against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13. The Patriots could move level with the Cardinals on losses during Arizona's Week 14 bye.
The Patriots have a weaker strength of schedule than the Cardinals after Week 12, so they would move up from No. 3 to No. 2 with a loss.
New England does not have another win on its schedule, and it may not be competitive in the next few weeks versus the Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs.
The losses should stack up and lead to a quarterback change through the draft. USC's Caleb Williams and North Carolina's Drake Maye are the top quarterback prospects in the 2024 draft class.
Arizona may be more inclined to land Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to add more help around Kyler Murray.
The Cardinals visit Pittsburgh in Week 13 and then face San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia and Seattle after their bye.
The NFC West team could go in a different direction at quarterback, but if may be better off with its current franchise quarterback because he is a proven quantity in the NFL and adding a rookie would trigger a full-blown rebuild.
At minimum, the Cardinals should add one of the top college prospects if they continue their losing ways.
Monday Night Loss Put Bears in Great Draft Shape
3 of 3
New England's loss to the Giants provided the Bears with a golden opportunity on Monday night.
New York joined a collection of six four-win teams who occupy the bottom six spots in the top 10 of the projected draft order.
A loss by the Bears to the Minnesota Vikings would keep them at three wins and one game behind the four-win teams, which is terrific for their draft positioning.
Chicago already holds the No. 1 pick in the projected draft order because of Carolina's continued futility.
The Panthers lost their 10th game of the season on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans and there are no wins in sight on their schedule.
Carolina visits NFC South foes Tampa Bay and New Orleans in the next two weeks and then finishes with Atlanta, Green Bay, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay.
Chicago will be rooting for all of Carolina's opponents so that the top pick does not change hands between now and the end of Week 18.
The Bears will try to be competitive on their own schedule with Justin Fields back at quarterback, but they do not mind losses so that they can remain in the top four.
