Jets' Aaron Rodgers Says He's 'a Fan' of 49ers' Brock Purdy; QB in 'MVP Conversation'
As one of the biggest chip on shoulder guys in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers is firmly in Brock Purdy's corner.
Rodgers' has enjoyed watching the poise and fire that the 2022 Mr. Irrelevant has played with since taking over for Jimmy Garoppolo halfway through last season and that has kept him at the top of the San Francisco 49ers depth chart.
The four-time league MVP talked about being a fan of Purdy while appearing on ESPN's "ManningCast" on Monday night during a matchup between the 49ers and Minnesota Vikings

"He's out here balling, in the MVP conversation and playing like a vet," Rodgers said. "...I'm a fan, and I think it's great people are trash talking him, it probably just adds a little fuel to the fire."
Leading San Francisco to a 5-1 record thus far, Purdy should be in the middle of the MVP conversation, an incredible turnaround for someone that was an afterthought just a year ago.
Purdy was perfect in the regular season prior to a Week 6 loss to the Cleveland Browns in which he struggled mightily and immediately gave a microphone to his doubters, who believe he's a product of the 49ers system.
He's kept proving the doubters wrong along the way and has the admiration of one the sports' greatest-ever signal callers.
