NFL Futures Betting Odds 2023-24: Best Picks for Super Bowl 58 Entering Week 4
Somehow we're nearly a quarter of the way through the 2023-24 NFL season, and while three teams remain undefeated, there is still no clear-cut favorite to win it all at Super Bowl LVIII.
The same four to five teams have drifted around the top of the rankings in NFL futures odds, and this week sees one team that had previously been in the top three return after being unseated by a division rival.
Interestingly, two of the three teams at the top of NFL futures odds are among those undefeated squads, but the other one—a certain defending champion—is further down the standings at 2-1. It's early yet, and we've hardly had any time for these teams to start to pull away from one another.
So, as we prepare for Week 4, let's take a closer look at the three teams Vegas favors to triumph at Super Bowl LVIII in February.
San Francisco 49ers
1 of 3
Super Bowl odds: +600
The San Francisco 49ers remain atop the NFL futures odds ahead of Week 4, the same position they occupied last week but with slightly better odds (+600, up from +650).
It's clear to see why Vegas is so high on San Francisco. Kyle Shanahan's squad has enjoyed 13 straight regular season wins. They're fourth in the league in total yards per game on offense, with 399, and Christian McCaffrey is the league's most productive running back, with a total of 353 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
But the 49ers' dominance is largely due to the balance on both sides of their game. They've allowed 42 points, the fifth-least in the league, and they're tied for the second-most interceptions on the season, with five.
Ahead of their Week 4 matchup with the division rival Arizona Cardinals, star wideouts Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk were on the injury report with a rib/knee and a shoulder issue, respectively. Samuel was a non-participant in practice Thursday, while Aiyuk shed his non-contact jersey at practice on Thursday.
Being without them in Week 4 would prove a challenge for the team, but it shouldn't affect San Francisco's standings as the ground game and defense are plenty prepared to overpower the Cardinals.
Kansas City Chiefs
2 of 3
Super Bowl odds: +650
The Kansas City Chiefs didn't come roaring out of the gate to start the 2023 season, but they certainly looked like a defending champion in Week 3 when they routed the Bears 41-10. The statement win helped the Chiefs retain their position as the second-most-favored team to win it all this season.
Ahead of their Week 4 bout with the New York Jets, which was once a must-view game and is now just another matchup, the Chiefs are favored to win by more than a touchdown.
Kansas City is fifth in the league in total offense, averaging 390.3 yards per game. Patrick Mahomes is among the top seven quarterbacks in the league in productivity, and notably, his offensive line has allowed him to take just one sack all season.
Like the 49ers, the Chiefs are a balanced team, and their defense has allowed just 40 points on the year (fourth-best in the league) and 280.7 total yards (sixth).
Unless something goes terribly awry, expect the Chiefs to improve to 3-1 on the season this week and retain their high Super Bowl futures odds.
Philadelphia Eagles
3 of 3
Super Bowl odds: +700
One of the three remaining undefeated squads in the league, the Philadelphia Eagles move back into the top three in Super Bowl futures, replacing the Dallas Cowboys, who snuck into that group ahead of Week 3.
Favored by more than a touchdown over the Washington Commanders in Week 4, the Eagles have a choice opportunity to retain their unblemished record.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts has had a slow start to his season, just cracking the top 20 of signal-callers in terms of most passing yards and finding the end zone through the air just three times so far on the year.
But Vegas clearly believes Hurts will return to his previous dominance, and moreover, the Eagles' stellar record is largely due to the team's strong offensive and defensive line play, the kinds of fundamentals that allow teams to play into February.
