WWE: A Look at the Injuries for Christian, Sin Cara, Orton, Del Rio and Mysterio

The Doctor Chris MuellerJan 3, 2012

WWE has always been a dangerous environment, but right now, it seems as if there are more superstars out for injury than any other time I can remember.

Lets take a look at every superstar who is injured and how their injury affects WWE.

Randy Orton

The most recent addition to the injured list is The Viper, Randy Orton. He was written off TV this past week after suffering a nasty fall down a flight of steps at the hands of Wade Barrett.

This was done so Orton could get a back issue taken care of before it spirals out of control.

So how does Orton being out affect WWE?

For one thing, it is unknown how long he will be out of action for, and with him being one of the heavy favorites to win this year's Rumble, WWE could be looking to fill that slot with someone else.

Barrett also needs to find something to do now that his rival is on the shelf. Hopefully, he starts pursuing the World Title soon.

Sin Cara

The high flyer was injured during a PPV match, which left him with a torn leg muscle. This affected several people.

Hunico was being used specifically as an opponent for Sin Cara, and their feud had escalated with the inclusion of Epico and Primo.

Now, Epico and Primo are on their own in the tag-team division, and Hunico has brought in a bodyguard. This is a smart move for Hunico, as they could always transition to the tag-team division if he does not pan out as a singles star.

Christian

Christian should not be out for much longer, but his injury has left a void on SmackDown. The Canadian superstar was involved in the hunt for the World title and should start back off in his quest to regain the belt when he returns.

His injury left SmackDown with a lack of heel power in the main event division, and they have since pushed Mark Henry and Wade Barrett up the ladder to help.

Once Christian returns, he will no doubt start up a feud with Daniel Bryan or possibly even Sheamus again after the two had been through several weeks of matches.

Rey Mysterio

Mysterio is another person who could be back soon, but his absence has had less of an effect on WWE than some of the others.

He is always a top star, but rarely ever in a long-term feud with anyone for a major title. When he returns, it will be interesting to see how WWE books him.

A feud with Hunico could be interesting if Sin Cara has not returned by then.

Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio suffered a groin injury and will be out for a few more weeks. This obviously affected the WWE title picture to where CM Punk really does not have a major feud with anyone at the moment.

He faced Ziggler last night, which may ignite a feud seeing as Ziggler sort of stole the title post match. Del Rio will be back shortly, so his injury has little effect on anyone but himself.

Having all these guys on the shelf is really a shame, because other than Sin Cara, everyone on the list is a main event level performer.

Hopefully in 2012, WWE has better luck with injuries than they did in 2011.
