Tim Tebow a Class Act in Meeting with Rutgers' Eric LeGrand

Tim KeeneyJun 1, 2018

Former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand was already making an incredibly fast recovery from his scary injury, but yesterday marked a different kind of dream come true.

LeGrand, who suffered a paralyzing injury during a football game against Army in 2010, got to meet Tim Tebow and Brian Dawkins of the Denver Broncos, his favorite team.

It was originally diagnosed that LeGrand was going to be paralyzed from the neck down, but that didn't make him quit. That didn't make him come close to quitting.

He continued to prove everyone wrong during his recovery.

He has since gained movement in his upper body, and has recently stood up and sat down on his own. He believes he will be able to walk and he never gives up.

When it comes down to it, Eric LeGrand is a world-class human and an inspiration to anyone going through hard times. He's a complete optimist and you won't find a better person. He's a remarkable young man.

And that's what makes this story so great.

If anyone deserves to meet their favorite sports heroes, LeGrand does. And as for Tebow, we continue to learn that he's using his fame for "good rather than evil," as the saying goes.

Just a few weeks ago, we got a look into Tebow's true character with the story of his relationship with a girl who survived a brain tumor, Kelly Faughnan.

And here he is again, visiting Eric LeGrand.

Tebow doesn't do these things for attention. He does them because he genuinely wants to help people and make them happy. You can rest assured that he would be performing these acts of kindness no matter how many cameras are on him.

You may not like his game on the field, and that's fine, but we can all learn a lot from Tim Tebow off the field. Stories like this just continue to prove that.

During a time when news in the sports world has seemingly gotten more and more tragic, it's great to have a story like this to fall back on.

Hats off to Tim Tebow, hats off to Brian Dawkins and hats off to anyone who was involved in this.

It's nice to know there are still stand-out human beings in the sports world.

Tebow and the Broncos have a tough test coming up as they host the Pittsburgh Steelers, but you can bet Eric LeGrand will be pulling for his boys from Denver. And that's a good body to have in your corner.
