NFL Playoffs: 10 Things Aaron Rodgers Can Do During Bye Week

Bradlee RossJun 3, 2018

No one deserves a week off more than Aaron Rodgers. He'll get that this week after getting his Packers the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

But what should he do with that time? It's a question that only he can answer.

However, just in case he needs some suggestions, here are 10 things he could do during the bye week.

Prepare

1 of 10

I know this is a given, but I had to put it in there because it's important.

This guy is a student of the game and clearly lives on the practice field and film room. He probably learned that sitting behind Brett Favre for years, right?

Anyway, this guy will do this, so let's move on to fun stuff.

Go Hoodie Shopping with Bill Belichick

2 of 10

Why not? The New England Patriots have a bye. The Green Bay Packers have a bye. The picture above clearly shows that Aaron Rodgers knows how to rock a sweet hoodie. Bill Belichick is known for his own hoodie prowess, so I feel like this is a match made in heaven.

Just one problem: Will Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady be jealous?

Hang out with Brett Favre in Hattiesburg, MS

3 of 10

Can you imagine anything more fun?

I'm pretty sure that Brett Favre does nothing in Hattiesburg except for the following things:

-Throwing passes to local high school receivers

-Texting younger women

-Riding tractors

-Trying to figure out ways to get attention

That's the life. The one problem: Rodgers may not want to come back.

Tour Wisconsin's Dairy Farms

4 of 10

Aaron Rodgers should have already done this. If he hasn't, he needs to get on it this week.

The guys lives in Wisconsin and plays for a team whose fans wear cheese-shaped hats. You have to know about dairy farms to live in a place like that.

The only problem: free samples.

Milk products can be fattening. Don't want A-Rodg putting on the pounds before a playoff run.

Make More Television Commercials

5 of 10

This commercial is hilarious. Aaron Rodgers shows that he has pretty good comedic timing here. He's playing the straight man, but is pretty good at it. That role seems to fit with his off-the-field persona.

He should make another one of these this week. Why not? Maybe it could be ready to air during the Super Bowl.

The only problem: If it's on during the Super Bowl, he won't be able to watch it.

Playing Other Sports

6 of 10

Aaron Rodgers shows in the above clip that he is pretty athletic all around. That might be the best ceremonial first pitch that I've ever seen.

It's right down the middle, and he seems to have pretty decent control.

The problem: Rodgers gets signed to a multiyear deal for the Milwaukee Brewers, leaving the Packers stuck with Matt Flynn...oh wait...

Go to a College Bowl Game

7 of 10

There are still a lot of decent bowl games left to go to this week.

Michigan and Virginia Tech play in the Sugar Bowl, Clemson and West Virginia will play seven-on-seven in the Orange Bowl, and the highly anticipated Pittsburgh-SMU matchup is still lurking out there.

Rodgers should go to a game. It will give him a chance to laugh at how much better he is than anyone on the field.

The problem: Watching Pittsburgh's offense makes Rodgers so mad that he quits football and goes into the mountains to live as a hermit.

Learn to Knit

8 of 10

It's cold in Wisconsin. The forecast for this week in Green Bay calls for freezing temperatures every day.

If he could knit, Aaron Rodgers wouldn't have to spend all that hard-earned money on hats and socks. He could do it himself and save money (we all know he needs to).

The problem: His teammates are put off by the matching scarves and mittens he makes them.

Hang out with His Lady Friend

9 of 10

That's Destiny Newton, the woman the Aaron Rodgers was dating.

Yeah. It's unclear if they are still together or if Rodgers' playbook has come between them. Either way, he has the week off, so they should hang.

The problem: She is a major distraction from football for obvious reasons.

Go Watch a First-Round Playoff Game

10 of 10

The New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions are playing in New Orleans on Sunday in the first round of the playoffs. Rodgers should go.

It seems pretty likely that the Packers will face the Saints for a trip to the Super Bowl. Never a bad idea to do some scouting in person. Plus, he could cheer on his buddy Drew Brees. whom he is very close to judging from the picture above.

The problem: Rabid New Orleans fans might eat him.
