Who Needs Homefield Advantage: Road Teams Will Dominate NFL Wild Card Weekend

Pat De Marco Jan 3, 2009

While the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals scramble to actually sell out their games, home field advantage will have little outcome on this weekends wild card games.

Atlanta @ Arizona

I don't think anyone saw this match up back in September, but that's what makes the NFL so special.

I see the Falcons running early and often on the weak Cardinals defense.  The Falcons have struggled against good teams this year, and I don't  see that changing.

Prediction: Falcons 31-20

This might be the most difficult game to predict.  The Ravens lead the league in interceptions, but the Dolphins have thrown just 7 interceptions.

The Ravens ran all over the Dolphins back in October and they will need to do it again if they plan to win in Miami again.

Prediction: Ravens 20-17

The Colts are playing there best football since 2006.  The Colts have won 9 straight, including a 23-20 win in San Diego on November 23rd.

The Chargers are also red hot and have one four straight, but do you really trust Norv Turner in the playoffs.  I don't.

Prediction:  Colts 27-24

Maybe Eagles fans should purchase the remaining 3500 playoff tickets, because I think when it's all said and done the Eagles will defeat the Vikings.

The Vikings will get a defensive lift when Pat Williams returns from injury on Sunday, but I see McNabb throwing early and often.

The Vikings have a great run defense, but they struggle against the pass and the Eagles will take advantage of that.

Prediction: Eagles 24-20
