NBA Playoff Schedule 2023: Dates, Start Times, TV Info for All 1st-Round Series
The 2023 NBA playoffs will officially get underway this weekend, and the league has revealed the full schedule for all eight first-round matchups.
Both the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets will begin their respective quests for an NBA championship on Sunday as they await the No. 8 seeds to be determined through the play-in tournament:
The Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks clinched the seventh seeds in each conference thanks to Tuesday's respective play-in tournament victories over the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat. Wednesday's Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New Orleans Pelicans and Chicago Bulls vs. Toronto Raptors matchups will determine who will face Minnesota and Miami on Friday with the No. 8 seeds on the line.
The defending-champion Golden State Warriors will get their title defense underway in a prime-time Game 1 matchup against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night. While the Warriors have struggled on the road this season, they have the convenience of traveling in-state for their playoff series. It's a best-case scenario for Golden State's veteran squad, which looks like it hit its stride with three straight double-digit wins to close out the regular season.
In the Warriors' season finale against the Portland Trail Blazers, they set an NBA record with 55 points in the first quarter on their way to a 157-101 victory. The Kings will undoubtedly put up more of a fight, but their inexperience in the postseason could play a major factor in their series against the defending champs.
After a season full of excitement, the playoffs will surely provide even more fireworks in the coming weeks, starting with the first round.
