Predicting WWE WrestleMania 2023 Match Results That Will Anger Fans

Donald WoodMar 31, 2023

Wrestling fans are known to be particularly fickle when it comes to the outcomes of matches, and there will be several winners and losers from WrestleMania 39 that are sure to anger members of the WWE Universe.

Whether it is an internet sensation toppling a true workhorse, or a pair of over-the-hill veterans burying talent that desperately need victories, several bouts should have fans shaking in their boots.

Here are the match outcomes most likely to anger fans at WWE's biggest event of the year on Saturday and Sunday.

Logan Paul Beats Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins may not be the most popular Superstar on the roster, but fans can't discount how hard he works to wear the badge of honor for his company.

On the other hand, Logan Paul is a wildly popular superstar on YouTube, but he is almost universally disliked by WWE's hardcore audience. WWE Creative gets lost in the sauce with having WrestleMania appeal to casual fans, which could result in one of the worst booking outcomes of the night: Paul defeating Rollins.

While Paul has been better than expected in the ring since his debut, he is not as dedicated to the craft of wrestling and could be using the platform for even more clout.

Instead of WWE putting over an outsider, it should give Rollins the shining moment he deserves for all his hard work over the last year.

Paul may be a genuine attraction on a massive card that needs it, but he shouldn't walk away victorious over a cornerstone of the company.

John Cena Defeats Austin Theory

As bad as Paul beating Rollins would be, the biggest travesty possible at WrestleMania 39 would be Austin Theory dropping the United States Championship to the part-time John Cena.

As if Cena hasn't buried enough talent during his time with WWE, the idea that he could beat a fresh face and steal his moment only to drop the title a few weeks later in a match with far less fanfare would be absolutely unacceptable.

Theory may not be very popular with the WWE Universe, but he is one of the brightest young prospects in the sport.

From an in-ring perspective to the perfect physique that Vince McMahon always looked for in potential Superstars, the 25-year-old is everything the company wants in a top star now and moving forward.

Letting Cena beat Theory would ruin all his momentum and stunt his growth just as it did with all of the other younger talent the 16-time world champion buried throughout his career.

Triple H must see the writing on the wall and avoid the same mistakes.

Edge Shocks Finn Bálor

The WWE Universe is excited about the in-ring war between Edge and Finn Bálor, but the outcome could spoil the fun.

Unlike Cena, Edge has put younger talent over in the past, but Bálor's Demon persona has not been positioned well recently, and a loss to kick the can down the line in a story between The Rated-R Superstar and The Judgment Day would be a mistake.

The Hell in a Cell stipulation for the match is an incredible addition, and the interactions between the two men have been enjoyable. The problem is that the story is not entertaining, and the best part involves a battle between the Mysterio family.

While there is little doubt the two men will put on a memorable performance at SoFi Stadium this weekend, this needs to be The Demon's coming-out party.

Since losing the inaugural Universal Championship to injury in 2016, Bálor has been a shell of the top star most expected, but Edge putting him over would right many of those wrongs.

On the other hand, the Irishman taking a loss would be the final nail in his coffin as one of the most mismanaged performers in wrestling history.

The hope is that Edge has enough clout in the backstage area and would veto any scenario that had him come out on top.

With concerns about Vince McMahon's influence on creative, fans should be worried about another older star coming out on top.
