Ranking the Top Superstars on Track to Miss WWE WrestleMania 39

Donald WoodMar 16, 2023

As the biggest wrestling show of the year, members of the WWE Universe fully expect their favorite Superstars to be booked on the WrestleMania 39 card.

After a year of hard work, dedication to their craft and commitment to the fans, there are several marquee talents—such as Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss and The Street Profits—on track to miss the show due to a lack of consistency from the creative team.

Here are the talented performers most likely to miss out on a WrestleMania paycheck due to lackluster storytelling and character development.

Liv Morgan

While there is a contingent of fans who do not believe Liv Morgan's in-ring work is up to par, she has developed an immense following and continues to shine when put in hardcore match stipulations.

After carrying one of WWE's major women's championships and working against Ronda Rousey in arguably her most entertaining storyline, Morgan finds herself on the outside looking in for the marquee pay-per-view on April 1-2.

To understand why she isn't booked, look no further than the ineptitude of Triple H and WWE Creative in most recent storylines unrelated to The Bloodline.

At just 28 years old, Morgan has exceeded all expectations since joining the company. Getting over organically with the crowd is not easy, but her hard work has helped her develop a reputation among fans.

Instead of leaving her off the card, WWE should have worked months ago to cement her place within the build. The company dropped the ball again.

The Street Profits

Speaking of dropping the ball, it could be argued that no act was hotter over the last year than The Street Profits.

At Elimination Chamber, Montez Ford proved he is a world champion in the making. Through his ability in the ring and on the mic, he has showcased all the tools needed to become a top star on Raw or SmackDown.

With a partner in Angelo Dawkins who could easily feel as if he were being passed over in Ford's quest to become a singles competitor, the two men could have engaged in a tag team break-up angle that culminated in a singles match at the biggest show of the year.

Instead, they are an afterthought in the tag team division and will likely be relegated to cracking a few jokes during the live broadcast at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Ford and Dawkins deserve so much better.

Alexa Bliss

There are few Superstars on the active WWE roster today who have been as mismanaged as Alexa Bliss. As a result, one of the most popular women in wrestling will miss the company's most high-profile showcase.

The Goddess has been in purgatory for months, shedding the veil of the Bray Wyatt storyline before disappearing again. Upon her return, another pseudo-alliance with Wyatt gave hope of a future storyline with a champion, but her matches against Bianca Belair were the end of her push.

There is no doubt Bliss remains one of the most popular people in the company, but a lack of direction from the creative team, coupled with inconsistent appearances on television, has resulted in completely stunted momentum.

At a time when WWE should be doing whatever it can to get all its most popular performers on TV during The Road to WrestleMania, Triple H and his team have missed the mark.
