WWE 2K23: Top Gameplay Videos and Comments from WWE Superstars
Excitement has reached a fever pitch for the WWE 2K23 video game, as the Icon and Deluxe Editions became available for play Tuesday, while the Standard and Cross-Gen Editions will hit shelves Friday.
WWE 2K23 has the potential to be one of the biggest and best wrestling video games of all time thanks to a stacked roster of Superstars and plenty of anticipated features, including some that have never been seen before.
In February, fans and gamers were given their first taste of the gameplay they could expect when 2K released a brief trailer showcasing the in-ring action involving current stars such as Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins and Bianca Belair, as well as legends like Hulk Hogan, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Bret Hart:

Also shown in the trailer was a sneak peak at the brand-new WarGames match, marking the first time WarGames has ever been playable in a video game.
Players can control teams of three or four Superstars and pit them against each other in one of the most brutal and vicious match types in the history of sports entertainment.
WarGames is a gamechanger for the WWE 2K video game series, as it allows players to compete inside the caged double ring and pull off some moves and stunts that were never before possible in a video game.
GameSpot released a gameplay video focused solely on WarGames, and it featured no shortage of fast-paced, head-turning action:
While there has been a ton of fanfare for WarGames, interest also surrounded the game's basic gameplay for standard matches as well, since that is the crux of WWE 2K23 and any WWE video game.
Game Informer gave fans a chance to observe the standard gameplay before purchasing WWE 2K23 with a Rhodes vs. Rollins and Rhea Ripley vs. Ronda Rousey match:
As much hype as there has been surrounding WWE 2K23 from fans and gamers, it has also existed within the WWE locker room.
Rhodes, who made his return to the WWE 2K video game series this year after several years away from WWE, was thoroughly impressed with the game and its graphics when he watched his entrance for the first time:
The American Nightmare went on to praise the WWE 2K23 design team for the quality game it produced this year:
Rollins, who has been Rhodes greatest rival since returning to WWE, also had some positive things to say about the game.
When speaking to WrestlingInc's Nick Hausman, Rollins expressed his excitement over WWE 2K23 and the overall package of the game, including graphics and gameplay:
"Oh, the game's sick, man. It keeps getting better. It's like up and down. They're always trying new things at 2K, trying to figure out what's going to be the best recipe. These next-gen systems though were unreal. So just the mods of all the characters, they look beautiful. The gameplay is incredible, at least what I saw today. Didn't get a chance to jump in the WarGames match. I think that was the one thing I wanted to dabble in when I saw kind of the highlights, but I look great, my wife [Becky Lynch] looks great, the game plays well; it's all a win."
Since taking a year off from producing the WWE 2K video game franchise, the games have seemingly improved by leaps and bounds, and both the gameplay videos and Superstar comments on WWE 2K23 reflect that.
WWE 2K23 also has a hefty amount of downloadable content coming in the future, so by the time it is all said and done, WWE 2K23 could be more chock full of Superstars and features than any previous WWE game.
