Julius Randle, Knicks Thrill NBA Twitter by Rallying from 21-Point Hole to Beat 76ers
The New York Knicks looked well on their way to their fourth loss in their last five games when they fell behind by 21 points in the first quarter of Sunday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Thankfully for the fans in attendance at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks mounted a furious comeback to top the Sixers 108-97. Star forward Julius Randle led the way with 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the victory.
Randle's performance continued a run of strong outings, as he has topped 20 points in each of the last four games and eight of his previous nine appearances.
The 28-year-old was selected to his second All-Star Game last week and once again proved himself worthy of the spot by leading New York over the Eastern Conference's No. 3 seed.
Randle and the Knicks received a ton of praise from NBA Twitter for their resilience on Sunday:
After improving to 29-26, the Knicks are a half-game out of the sixth spot in the East. New York is looking to return to the playoffs after last year's disappointing campaign, and it will need its star players to be at their best if it hopes to achieve that goal.
With Randle playing at such a high level, the Knicks are in a good position to string together some wins and climb up the standings.
New York will look to make it two in a row when the team returns to action on Tuesday in a road matchup against the Orlando Magic (22-32).
