Lakers' Russell Westbrook Not Feeling Pressure from Trade Rumors: It's a Business
Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook isn't letting the trade talk get to him.
"I've known this was a business since I was 18 or 19 years old," Westbrook told reporters Saturday.
Westbrook has been the subject of trade rumors since the offseason, and things are only heating up ahead of Thursday's deadline.
Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes reported the Lakers have had conversations with the Utah Jazz about a trade for the veteran guard. Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports listed the Charlotte Hornets as a possible trade partner. According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Westbrook could be part of a deal with the Brooklyn Nets that brings Kyrie Irving to Los Angeles.
It's nothing new for Westbrook, who has been traded three times in the last four years after spending his first 11 seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The nine-time All-Star is instead focusing on his current team, averaging 15.7 points, 7.5 assists and 6.2 rebounds per game this season while mostly coming off the bench.
