The Rock's Mom Ata Johnson OK After Being Involved in Car Crash in Los Angeles
Ata Johnson, mother of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, was in a car crash early Thursday morning in Los Angeles.
In a post on Instagram, The Rock wrote his mother is "ok" and will "continue to get evaluated."
"She's a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real," the WWE Hall of Famer said. "Thank you LAPD & LAFD for being so caring & focused. Thanks for staying on phone and talking me thru it all. I got one parent left, so if you still got your mom and dad make sure you hug 'em hard, cos you never know when you'll get that 3am call we never want to get."
The Rock didn't provide specific details of the situation. His post included a picture of the car showing the right front side ripped open, the headlight missing and some damage to the bumper.
It also looks as if the airbag on the driver side was deployed.
Ata Johnson, 74, is a familiar face to wrestling fans. She was seen at several WWE events over the years when her son worked for the promotion, including at the 2013 Royal Rumble when he defeated CM Punk to win the WWE Championship.
