Derek Jeter Announced as Cover Athlete for MLB The Show 23 Collector's Edition

New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter will be the cover athlete for the collector's edition of MLB The Show 23.
The cover was revealed by Jeter on Wednesday's episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

This marks the first time Jeter has been on the cover of The Show. He is the first Yankee to be a cover athlete since Aaron Judge in 2018.
The announcement of Jeter as the cover athlete for the collector's edition came after Miami Marlins All-Star Jazz Chisholm Jr. was named the cover athlete for the standard edition.
There is a Marlins connection, as Jeter was part of the franchise's ownership group when Chisholm was acquired in a 2019 trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Chisholm made his MLB debut in September 2020.
The "Captain Edition" of MLB The Show with Jeter on the cover comes with The Show 9FIFTY baseball cap, daily double login rewards, digital bonus packs and a limited edition steel book.
Gamers who buy the "Captain Edition" or digital deluxe edition will be able to access the game four days before its official release date.
MLB The Show 23 will be released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on March 28.
