Derek Carr and Jared Goff are headed to the Pro Bowl.

The Detroit Lions announced Goff will be a replacement for Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller Jalen Hurts, who will be preparing for the Super Bowl. While Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is replacing Hurts' Super Bowl counterpart Patrick Mahomes, Carr revealed he will be taking the place of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow:

To say the quarterback position for the AFC roster is in flux would be quite an understatement.

A group that was made up of Mahomes, Burrow and Josh Allen has now turned into Lawrence, Carr and Tyler Huntley, who was announced as Allen's replacement because of injury. Huntley appeared in just six games this season when Lamar Jackson was injured.

Regardless, Goff and Carr can now add another Pro Bowl appearance to their resume.

This will be Goff's third of his career and first with the Lions after he was a back-to-back Pro Bowler in 2017 and 2018 on the Los Angeles Rams. He completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 4,438 yards, 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions for a surprising 9-8 Lions team this season.

Carr made three straight Pro Bowls from 2015 through 2017 and will return after completing 60.8 percent of his passes for 3,522 yards, 24 touchdowns and 14 interceptions this season.

The Pro Bowl announcement comes with Carr under the spotlight already because he revealed he and the Las Vegas Raiders will be parting ways this offseason. He is one of a number of quarterbacks along with Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson and others with an uncertain future as the offseason approaches.

That means Carr's final appearance while representing the Raiders will come at the Pro Bowl, although the traditional All-Star game has been replaced this season.

Instead, it is a multi-day event with a number of challenges pitting AFC and NFC players against each other.
