Arlisha Boykins Relieved of Duties as HSBB Assistant Coach After Impersonating Player
A 22-year-old assistant coach tried reliving her glory days by impersonating a 13-year-old in a junior varsity girls basketball game last week in Virginia, per Craig Looper of WAVY.
Arlisha Boykins had been an assistant coach for Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia, but she suited up for the team's Jan. 21 game in place of a player who was out of town for a club basketball tournament.
"Coaches always preach to the kids about integrity and those types of things, so I was just shocked," the father of the 13-year-old said.
Boykins is no longer an employee of the school, while players for both the JV and varsity girl's basketball teams at Churchland decided not to continue their season, per Steve Gardner of USA Today.
The girl whom Boykins impersonated plans to attend a different school next season.
