WWE Rumors: Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn; Rey Mysterio's Injury; Good Brothers Contract

Reigns vs. Zayn Planned for Elimination Chamber
After Sami Zayn made his choice to protect Kevin Owens following the Royal Rumble main event, it appears like the now-former Honorary Uce will get his shot at Roman Reigns very soon.
Per Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com, Reigns vs. Zayn is "as confirmed as it can be" for the Elimination Chamber premium live event on Feb. 18.
The Tribal Chief successfully defended the undisputed WWE universal title against Owens, but the Bloodline continued to pummel Owens after the match. Zayn was initially torn on what he wanted to do before Reigns got in his face and ordered him to make his choice.
Zayn's decision prompted three members of the Bloodline to attack him. Jey Uso, who referred to Zayn as his brother during the trial on last week's Raw, couldn't do it and walked out on his family.
It can be assumed this is all building toward Zayn and Owens challenging the Usos for the undisputed tag team titles at WrestleMania. The next logical step in this fantastic story will be for Zayn and Reigns to settle their issues in three weeks in Montreal to set up whatever the match is going to be at 'Mania.
Rey Mysterio Injury Update
Despite officially being the No. 17 entrant in the men's Royal Rumble match, Rey Mysterio didn't appear on the show. Dominik Mysterio came out at No. 18 with one of his dad's masks, implying he attacked Rey backstage and injured him.
Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Mysterio was "banged up" after his match with Karrion Kross on Friday Night SmackDown but he's "ok."
WWE could have done an altercation between both Mysterios during the Rumble match, but there's really no reason to risk any further injury to Rey that would potentially jeopardize the presumed WrestleMania bout between father and son.
The way WWE wound up booking the angle at the Royal Rumble worked fine. Dominik got to keep playing the evil heel trying to step out of his legendary father's shadow. He also had a strong showing in the match, lasting nearly 26 minutes before getting eliminated by Cody Rhodes.
Good Brothers' Contract Update
As Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have found out, it's good to have Triple H behind you in WWE.
Per Fightful Select (h/t Sunil Joseph of Ringside News), the Good Brothers received five-year contracts upon returning to WWE in October in part because Triple H was upset they were released by the company in April 2020.
The report noted many of the superstars who have returned since Triple H took over as chief creative officer received three-year contracts, but Gallows and Anderson got longer deals.
A five-year deal ties Gallows and Anderson to WWE through late-2027.
WWE released several superstars early in the COVID-19 pandemic. The departure of Gallows and Anderson was a surprise in part because they had just signed a four-year extension with the company in 2019.
Following their departure from the company, Gallows and Anderson had stints in Impact Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling. They returned to WWE in October, reuniting with A.J. Styles to form The O.C. and feud with The Judgment Day.
