Jayson Tatum on LeBron James No-Foul Call: 'I Don't Really Know What Happened'
The Boston Celtics needed a little bit of luck to escape Saturday's matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers with a 125-121 overtime victory, and Jayson Tatum wasn't about to admit he fouled LeBron James in the final seconds of regulation.
"The last two minutes and overtime was a blur," Tatum told reporters. "I don't really know what happened. Think I have to watch the game, watch the film. Everything happened so fast. Gotta move on and we got the win. That's all I've got to say about that."
While it was an excellent game with back-and-forth momentum swings between two rosters loaded with stars, the missed foul call overshadowed Boston's win.
James was incensed on the court in the immediate aftermath of his drive to the basket and missed shot, and Patrick Beverley even picked up a technical foul for bringing a camera over to the official and showing where there was a missed call.
It's safe to say the Lakers were not pleased:
The end result was another win for the 36-15 Celtics, who have the best record in the NBA.
Tatum finished his impressive performance with 30 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.
And one foul that wasn't called.
