Novak Djokovic Applauded by Nick Kyrgios, Tennis World for 10th Australian Open Win

Novak Djokovic earned his 10th Australian Open title with a 6-3, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5) win over Stefanos Tsitsipas in Sunday's final.

The victory gave Djokovic 22 career Grand Slam titles, tying Rafael Nadal for the most in men's tennis history. Even Tsitsipas praised Djokovic as the best-ever tennis player after the match:

The latest run in Melbourne was dominant.

Djokovic only dropped one set over the seven matches, surprisingly coming against Enzo Couacaud in Round 2, but he got stronger as the tournament continued and was nearly flawless over the final five matches. Tsitsipas took Djokovic to a tiebreak twice in the final, but the match still ended in straight sets.

It extended his winning streak in this event to 28 with four titles over the last five years. The 35-year-old did not compete in 2021 after refusing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, but he came back strong to win as the No. 4 seed.

With five major titles since the start of the 2021 season, Djokovic appears to only be getting better late in his career.
