Anthony Edwards Makes All-Star Case to NBA Twitter in T-Wolves' Win vs. Grizzlies
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards posted a team-high 25 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds to lead the T-Wolves to a 111-100 home win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
The 21-year-old entered the game on fire.
First, he posted 44 points, three blocks and three steals in a win over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. He added 31 points and four steals in a close defeat to Houston two nights later. He followed that up with 37 more points in a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.
Then Edwards guided the Timberwolves to a win over the Western Conference's second-place team Friday.
The former Georgia star dropped 13 points in the third quarter alone, including a trio of three-pointers. But the top highlight occurred in the first, when Edwards flew over Jaren Jackson Jr. for a slam.
He's simultaneously making his All-Star case and pushing the Timberwolves closer to a top-six spot in the conference standings, which would mean the team would avoid the play-in tournament. Twitter recognized his efforts:
Edwards and the Timberwolves have won four of their last five games and will now host the Sacramento Kings at Target Center on Saturday and Monday.
