Giants vs. Eagles: Updated Odds, Stat Predictions for 2023 NFC Divisional Game
The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles had entirely different vantage points for the NFL's Wild Card Weekend.
New York pulled off one of the weekend's upsets, with a 31-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings, while Philly's No. 1 seed gave them the NFC's only playoff bye.
Now the rivals must face off in the NFC divisional game this Saturday, and not surprisingly, the oddsmakers have made the Eagles the favorites to leave Lincoln Financial Field with the victory over the Giants.
One team is tied for the best record in the league (14-3), and the other has a rookie head coach in Brian Daboll who should garner serious consideration for the Coach of the Year award.
As fans look ahead to the much-anticipated matchup between Philly and New York, here are the latest odds and a few stat projections for the game's standout players.

Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
2 of 4
Jalen Hurts will most likely finish in the top three in the NFL MVP voting, but he might have even been runner-up had he not missed two games near the end of the season.
But he's back on the gridiron, playing through pain in his throwing shoulder, hoping to lead his team to the NFC Championship. While the Super Bowl is the goal, it's still about winning one game at a time.
To do that, he's going to have to go through the Giants, who are playing inspired football of late.
Most analysts thought they could beat the Vikings, but none of them were willing to put money on it.
Still, they pulled it off, and they have no intention of stopping their winning ways.
But what stands in their way is Hurts.
While he's not going to light it up in the air, he's got a pretty deadly combination of arms and legs that can really break down a defense.
On the ground, he's got more than double the rushing touchdowns and runs over 20 yards during the regular season than his opponent, Daniel Jones.
He also finished with more passing yards and passing TDs than Jones on the year.
So, based on the numbers, it's easy to see why he's a legitimate MVP candidate and why he's expected to continue that level of play on Saturday.
If the bye did anything for Hurts, it allowed him to rest and let that shoulder heal a bit more.
Look for him to push through and deliver another great performance for the Eagles in their win over the Giants.
Stat Prediction: 275 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD, 0 INTs
Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants
3 of 4
Daniel Jones' numbers don't look as impressive as Hurts' on paper, but that shouldn't paint him as the lesser quarterback in fans' minds.
He's had a breakout year for the Giants, and it's likely because of the trust that his new head coach bestowed upon him.
Jones finished with 301 passing yards and two passing touchdowns against the Vikings, with no interceptions and 78 yards on the ground.
Look for him to have a similar game this weekend against the Eagles.
Problem is, Jones is facing a team that has a penchant for putting QBs on their backs.
Philly led the league in sacks with 70, so they'll likely put some intense pressure on Jones and make him throw under duress.
That'll open the door for mistakes, and it could cost New York the game, but it won't necessarily impact Jones' individual stat line.
Stat Prediction: 305 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, 1 INT
Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants
4 of 4
Even for non-Giants fans, seeing Saquon Barkley back on the field and playing to the level he was prior to his string of injuries is something special.
Football is just better when the best players are out on the field putting in work.
For the 2022-23 regular season, Barkley finished with 1,312 rushing yards, 10 rushing touchdowns and nine runs over 20 yards.
In the upset win over the Vikings, Barkley only had 53 yards on the ground, but he did have two rushing TDs.
That's the kind of scoring punch New York will need to be competitive on Saturday on the road in Philly.
Jones will likely need to open things up for the passing game because of the Eagles' defense, so look for Barkley to get more touches and have a bigger impact on the game.
State Prediction: 14 carries, 101 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD
