NHL Trade Rumors: Bobby Ryan Trade Talk Heating Up Again?

A pair of tweets has gotten the online hockey community buzzing again about superstar winger Bobby Ryan. Everyone is widely aware of all the trade talk and speculation that occurred just a few weeks ago. However, when Randy Carlyle was fired and Bruce Boudreau was hired, it was expected that Ryan was going to stay put.

Hockey Break tweeted something that everyone already knew. The tweet about the Ducks record under Boudreau is telling enough. The fact that little has changed in performance probably indicates that GM Bob Murray will make a move or two. It doesn't guarantee that Ryan will be traded, but it is an interesting thought.

Out of the teams listed by @HockeyBreak, the Rangers and Maple Leafs stand out for different reasons.

The Rangers stand out because they are a team that is performing very well, but would love to add a left wing threat and power play forward. They have assets, but it comes down to what they are willing to give up.

The Maple Leafs got off to a hot start but have cooled down slightly and always seem to be in the mix when it comes to trade rumors. They have a number of assets, but what is Brian Burke willing to give up?

The Sabres and Predators also are an interesting case. The Predators need a young offensive player. Bobby Ryan fits the mold, but the asking price could be a player like Ryan Suter. Would the Predators' deal Suter considering that Shea Weber is currently sidelined?

Lastly, the Sabres are a team that would love to add a young scorer of Ryan's caliber. With some young prospects and roster players, the Sabres could conceivably make a deal for Ryan.

It is only January and trade rumors are bound to heat up as the month goes on and the trade deadline creeps up.
