NFL Week 18 Schedule: SNF Matchup, Start Times Revealed for Last Regular-Season Games

With a chance to go to the playoffs on the line, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers will be playing their regular-season finale in prime time.

The NFL announced its full Week 18 schedule on Monday, highlighted by a Sunday Night Football matchup between the Packers and NFC North-rival Detroit Lions:

The Packers, Lions and Seattle Seahawks enter Week 18 with 8-8 records. If both Green Bay and Seattle are victorious in their respective matchups, the Packers would win the tiebreaker for the last wild-card spot in the NFC.

It was just over a month ago that a playoff berth appeared to be out of the question for Green Bay. The team had fallen to 4-8 with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, which also saw Rodgers exit the game with an injury to his ribs. Many had wondered if it was worth it for the Packers to look to the future and give third-year quarterback Jordan Love a chance to start over Rodgers.

However, Green Bay has reeled off four straight wins and now controls its own destiny in the last week of the regular season. The Packers are clicking at the right time, punctuated by this past Sunday's 41-17 blowout victory over the NFC North-champion Minnesota Vikings.

"It didn't look great for a while," Rodgers told reporters after the win. "And I was resigned to some of those realities being possible. ... Whatever was supposed to happen, I was surrendered to that reality—with also the resolute mindset that we could still get back in this thing."

The Lions have also been a pleasant surprise in their second season under head coach Dan Campbell. Detroit has won seven of its last nine games after starting the year 1-6. However, the team has to hope for a loss by the Seahawks in their Week 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, as Seattle owns the tiebreaker thanks to a 48-45 win over Detroit in October.

It all makes for what should be an exciting finish to an entertaining 2022 season.
