Rose Bowl 2012: Oregon Ducks' Speed Will Carry Them to Victory over Wisconsin

Bowl season will officially arrive on Monday when the BCS Bowl games start. There are several games to look forward to (finally), including “The Granddaddy of Them All”.

Oregon will defeat Wisconsin in the 2012 Rose Bowl because of their blazing team speed. The Badgers won’t have enough firepower to stay afloat against the Ducks.

Russell Wilson and Montee Ball are fantastic offensive weapons that will be able to handle the load, but there is going to be maximum pressure on them to perform because the Badgers defense will be tested all game long.

Oregon’s rushing attack is the fifth-best in the nation, accounting for 296 yards per game. It’s not just their numbers which are phenomenal, but it’s how they tire a defense out. No huddle, constant movement, gutsy play-calling and playmakers all across the board.

LaMichael James and Kenjon Barner have rushed for 2,555 yards, 1,646 of them coming from James. The entire team has rushed for 3,844 yards and 39 combined touchdowns.

Wisconsin gave up 37 and 39 points in two games to Michigan State this season, an average offensive football team, and 33 to Ohio State, a less than average offensive football team.

Two of those three games were losses.

Wilson and Ball will have successful days but they will both need to perform at their very best level in order to grab victory. If they are slightly off then the Badgers have no chance of beating the Ducks.

The Ducks will find success rushing the football against the Badgers defense. It will force Wilson and Ball to have amazing games, which may put too much pressure on the athletes causing mistakes and lackluster outcomes.

Oregon will prove that they still have one of the most electrifying offenses in college football by going right at the Wisconsin defense. It will be overwhelming at first, which will put the Badgers in a hole that they will be fighting all game long.
