Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 11: Latest Fantasy Football Lineup Advice for Sunday

Jake RillNov 19, 2022

The Tennessee Titans' impressive season continued Thursday night, when they went on the road and defeated the Green Bay Packers 27-17. That got Week 11 of the NFL season underway. Now, it's time to turn the attention to Sunday's slate of 12 games.

There are quite a few exciting matchups set to take place, and plenty of players are sure to have huge fantasy performances. Some may be on the start/sit fence, though, so fantasy managers will want to make sure they make the right decisions to ensure they don't have a player put up a huge number on the bench.

Four teams have byes this week: the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars. So make sure you plan accordingly.

With Sunday's action drawing close, here's some start/sit advice for Week 11.

Start 'Em: Cordarrelle Patterson, RB, Atlanta Falcons

After missing four weeks because of a knee injury, Cordarrelle Patterson returned and played two games in five days. As you might expect, the Falcons eased the 31-year-old running back into action, so his fantasy output wasn't quite up to his lofty standards.

Last week, Patterson had only five carries for 18 yards and one catch for two yards in a loss to the Carolina Panthers. But he also played just 38 percent of Atlanta's offensive snaps. The week before, he played only 39 percent of snaps in a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but he still scored a pair of rushing touchdowns to salvage his day.

Patterson should bounce back from his down Week 10 performance, especially because he'll likely be on the field more frequently in the Falcons' Week 11 contest vs. the Chicago Bears. It's a great matchup, too, because the Bears are giving up the seventh-most fantasy points to RBs per game this season, per NFL.com.

So if you're feeling hesitant about trusting Patterson after his lack of recent production, don't worry, because he should get more opportunities on Sunday. And when that happens, the veteran typically fares quite well.

Sit 'Em: Adam Thielen, WR, Minnesota Vikings

Prior to the NFL trade deadline, the Minnesota Vikings went out and acquired tight end T.J. Hockenson in a deal with the Detroit Lions. It was a move that made their offense even more dynamic by adding another big-time playmaker to the mix.

However, it also affected the fantasy value of Adam Thielen. With Hockenson getting some of the targets now, other wide receivers haven't been quite as involved. That's resulted in Thielen recording only eight catches for 116 yards over the Vikings' past two games.

If Thielen isn't scoring touchdowns, his fantasy production is not start-worthy, as he hasn't had more than 72 yards in a game this year. And the 32-year-old hasn't gotten into the end zone since Week 6.

On Sunday, Minnesota is facing the Dallas Cowboys, and it could be a high-scoring matchup. But the Cowboys have some talented defensive backs, which may make things difficult on Thielen at times. Plus, his inconsistency is making it difficult to trust him in fantasy lineups of late, so it's best to leave him on the bench if possible.

Start 'Em: Courtland Sutton, WR, Denver Broncos

It's been a disappointing season thus far for Courtland Sutton, who many expected to put up big numbers in what was supposed to be an improved Denver offense. Instead, he and the Broncos have both struggled for much of the year.

But Sutton may be getting back on the right track. The 27-year-old wide receiver had six catches for 66 yards in Denver's Week 10 loss to the Tennessee Titans. With fellow receiver Jerry Jeudy leaving with an ankle injury, Sutton was targeted a season-high-tying 11 times.

Jeudy is going to miss the Broncos' Week 11 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, so Sutton should again be heavily involved. That could bode well for his fantasy production, as the Raiders are allowing the seventh-most passing yards per game in the league.

Sutton has scored only one touchdown this season, and that came back in Week 4. But it's quite possible that he'll finally get back into the end zone again on Sunday.
