Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Both running backs were among fantasy elites, but more importantly, team MVPs. Through 16 games, MJD has accumulated 1,437 yards and eight touchdowns on 318 attempts. Shady McCoy has totaled 1,309 yards and a whopping 17 touchdowns on just 273 yards.
McCoy was named the NFC Pro Bowl starter, so at least his accomplishments this season have been noticed. Jones-Drew was named the backup to Ravens' Ray Rice for the AFC squad.
As for MJD, this is a phenomenal accomplishment. He has been one of the most consistent running backs in football since being drafted in 2006. He was overlooked in that draft as he fell to the second round. The Jags received a steal that day and it has paid off for all parties. Though a Super Bowl eludes the franchise, they can still boast employing one of the few elite runners in the game.
MJD is a bowling ball of destruction. He has fantastic speed, but it his uncanny leg strength that allows him to explode through defenders. A fighter, you rarely see MJD fall backwards. This is a man that will fight for every single inch. He has given his all for the Jaguars franchise and deserves to be praised for his efforts.
He may play for a small market organization, but he is a superstar deserving of all of the accolades.
As for McCoy, expect Shady to be in the running for a rushing title shortly. Adrian Peterson may not be healthy to start the season after undergoing knee surgery on December 30. With McCoy's incredible cut-back ability, elusiveness and field vision, he will be a force to be reckon with for years to come.
