Week 9 DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Picks, Lineup Tips for Sunday

Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season began with the Philadelphia Eagles keeping their undefeated record intact. However, their matchup against the Houston Texans was a bit closer than many had anticipated.

On Thursday night, the Eagles improved to 8-0 with a 29-17 win in Houston. The game was tied at halftime, and Philadelphia didn't put the game out of reach until the fourth quarter.

Now, the Week 9 action will continue on Sunday, when 11 games are set to take place. It's a bit of a lighter slate, considering six teams have byes this week. But there should still be plenty of exciting matchups, and many top playmakers will be in action.

So, who should daily fantasy managers look to include in their lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel on Sunday? Here's some DFS advice for the upcoming slate of games.

Fields Is a Great Value Play at Quarterback

It's taken some time for Justin Fields to adapt to the NFL level. But nearing the midway point of his sophomore season, the Bears quarterback is starting to put up some impressive numbers. And the 23-year-old may only get better from here.

Chicago is giving Fields more opportunities to use his legs, and that's working out well. Over the past three games, he's rushed for 230 total yards and two touchdowns. In last week's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Fields not only got into the end zone on the ground, but he also had two touchdown passes, marking his first multi-TD game through the air since Week 1.

Fields ($5,300 on DraftKings; $7,400 on FanDuel) should build off these recent performances on Sunday. The Bears are hosting the Miami Dolphins, who are giving up the seventh-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season (per NFL.com).

Expect another strong showing from Fields this week. And with his affordable DFS price, he should be a high-value QB play.

It's Worth Paying Up for Ekeler This Week

The Chargers' offense will be without some of its top playmakers on Sunday. Top wide receivers Keenan Allen (hamstring) and Mike Williams (ankle) will both miss the team's Week 9 road matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

But Los Angeles will have running back Austin Ekeler, and it will likely lean heavily on the 27-year-old due to its shorthanded receiving corps. So it could be a big week for Ekeler, who has already been one of the top receiving backs in the NFL this season.

Through seven games, Ekeler's receiving numbers (357 yards and three touchdowns) are almost as strong as his rushing stats (380 yards and five TDs). And on Sunday, quarterback Justin Herbert will likely throw plenty of passes to Ekeler ($8,800 on DraftKings; $9,400 on FanDuel), which will only boost his value even more in points-per-reception formats.

Ekeler is one of the most reliable fantasy running backs in the league, which is why his DFS price is so high. But it should be more than worth using that much of your budget on the clear top playmaker on the Chargers' offense for Week 9.

Engram Continues to Be Sleeper at Tight End

Last week, Evan Engram broke through and scored his first touchdown of the season (his first with the Jaguars). The 28-year-old tight end had four receptions for 55 yards and a score in Jacksonville's loss to the Denver Broncos.

It was only a matter of time before Engram got into the end zone. He's been targeted six or more times in each of the Jags' past four games, and he's been putting up solid numbers in the process.

Yet, Engram ($3,300 on DraftKings; $5,200 on FanDuel) still has a low cost for daily fantasy lineups. So he continues to be a bargain, considering the consistent involvement that he's had in the Jaguars' offense throughout the year.

So if you want to spend up at other positions and get several top playmakers in your lineup, Engram should be a solid tight end to play on Sunday, when Jacksonville is hosting the Las Vegas Raiders. Not only has Engram been playing well, but the Raiders are giving up the third-most fantasy points to TEs this season (per NFL.com).
