LeBron James Engaged: Miami Heat Superstar Pops Question to Savannah Brinson

Adam WellsJun 2, 2018

LeBron James must be getting better at closing the deal. According to Larry Brown Sports, the NBA star is engaged to his girlfriend Savannah Brinson.

The report says that the two-time league MVP proposed to Brinson during his birthday bash. There are also pictures of his cake, which is so ridiculous and over the top that it makes you wonder who would ever want to eat something that looks the way this does.

Quite honestly, that cake looks like something you would see at a Kardashian wedding, not anything for a normal human being. But to each his own, I guess.

It has been quite a week for James, who also turned 27 this week, and the Miami Heat are the only undefeated team in the Eastern Conference (4-0). He is dominating in ways that only he can with 33 points and seven assists per game.

James and Brinson have been together since high school and have two kids together, so this news is not exactly a surprise. It appeared to be just a matter of when it happened, not if.

We have seen what marriage has done for athletes: A lot of them tend to thrive after walking down the aisle. There must be some sort of mental roadblock that is broken down when you tie the knot with someone you love.

James needs to get over that mental block in the postseason and fourth quarter, so perhaps the impending wedding will help him play the final 12 minutes like he does the first 36.

In all seriousness, congratulations to LeBron and Savannah. Here's hoping they have a lifetime of happiness.
