Week 6 DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Picks, Lineup Tips for Sunday

Jake RillOct 16, 2022

The Sunday slate for Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season is a tad lighter than previous weeks, with four teams on bye. But there will still be plenty of exciting action featuring a plethora of the league's top stars.

So daily fantasy players should have no trouble finding strong options to fill out their lineups on DraftKings and/or FanDuel on Sunday. In fact, there could still be some tough decisions to make while spreading the budget between top-tier stars and low-cost value players.

Who are the best players to target from Sunday's 12 matchups? Here's some DFS advice to help ahead of the upcoming Week 6 action.

Build Your Lineup Around a Bills Stack

A matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs is almost guaranteed to be a high-scoring shootout. Both teams are stacked with playmakers, and they're typically even, so the game should remain competitive throughout.

That's why the best DFS lineups on Sunday will likely feature several players from this contest. So why not go with a Buffalo stack when beginning your lineup construction?

Bills quarterback Josh Allen ($8,200 on DraftKings; $9,200 on FanDuel) is off to a tremendous start again this season, as he ranks first in the NFL in passing yards (1,651) and second in passing touchdowns (14). He's going to be airing it out a lot while going head-to-head with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.

Stefon Diggs is Buffalo's top wide receiver, but he'll also be the most expensive in DFS ($8,400 on DraftKings; $8,900 on FanDuel). It may be better to go with either Gabriel Davis ($6,500 on DraftKings; $6,900 on FanDuel) or Isaiah McKenzie ($5,000 on DraftKings; $6,000 on FanDuel), as they'll likely all be involved in Sunday's game, and that will save some of your budget for other positions.

It should be a big day for the Bills' passing attack, so Allen and one of his wide receivers will be a strong core for any DFS lineup.

Stevenson Should Put Up Big Numbers at Fair Price

Damien Harris has been a limited participant at New England Patriots practices this week due to a hamstring injury, and it seems like a strong possibility that he'll miss Sunday's game vs. the Cleveland Browns. That will clear the way for another big day for Rhamondre Stevenson.

Last week, Stevenson was a workhorse for the Pats once Harris departed due to his ailment. Stevenson rushed the ball 25 times for 161 yards, both career highs, in New England's victory over the Detroit Lions.

If Stevenson gets a ton of opportunities again this week, it should be a safe bet that he'll put up similar numbers. The Browns have struggled to stop the run early in the season, as they're allowing 138.2 rushing yards per game, the fifth most in the NFL.

Because Stevenson is available at an affordable DFS price ($6,000 on DraftKings; $7,500 on FanDuel), he's essentially a must-start RB for Sunday, as he should provide great value at that cost.

Gentry a Strong Low-Cost Option at TE

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their starting tight end this week, as Pat Freiermuth has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a concussion. And while it's not a great matchup for the Steelers offense, their fill-in starter at TE, Zach Gentry, could be a sleeper DFS play.

Gentry was more involved in Pittsburgh's offense last week following Freiermuth's departure. In the Steelers' loss to the Bills, Gentry had five catches for 43 yards and was targeted six times. He could provide similar production in Week 6, and if he gets into the end zone, it would be a solid fantasy performance.

Pittsburgh will likely be trailing Tampa Bay for much of the day, so it should be passing quite a bit. That bodes well for Gentry, who now has a bit of a connection with rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett after last week's game.

So if you're looking to save DFS money at the tight end position, go with Gentry ($2,600 on DraftKings; $4,600 on FanDuel), as he could outperform his low price.
