The 2022 NFL season kicks off on Thursday night with what is expected to be a high-scoring clash between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams.

The potential for a ton of points should excite daily fantasy football players of any format. There are plenty of intriguing options on each roster to load up on in single-game contests.

Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs will likely be two of the first names added into lineups because of how much they have jelled inside the Buffalo offense over the last two years.

Buffalo has a new face in Jamison Crowder in the wide receiver room that should also feature Gabe Davis and Isaiah McKenzie in elevated roles following the departures of Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley.

Los Angeles also experienced some turnover on its wide receiver depth chart, as Allen Robinson was brought in to provide support to Cooper Kupp.

The combination of Kupp and Matthew Stafford should be utilized at a high percentage as well in DFS lineups.

Thursday's key will be to find the one or two value plays that complement an Allen-Diggs or Stafford-Kupp stack. Finding the best value play will be tricky since there are a few options on both rosters that could break out and become the fantasy darling of opening night.

Make Sure You Have One QB-WR1 Pairing

The base for lineups on Thursday should carry one of the quarterback-wide receiver combination that have carried the Buffalo and Los Angeles offenses recently.

Cooper Kupp led the NFL in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches in 2021. Stefon Diggs was in the top 10 in all three categories.

You know Josh Allen and Matt Stafford will go to their No. 1 targets on a constant basis, so it makes sense to pair one of the offensive duos in your lineup. You likely won't be able to put both pairings in your lineups because it leaves minimal salary for the other roster spots.

The Buffalo duo could have the slight edge over the Los Angeles pairing since Stafford dealt with an elbow issue for most of the preseason.

However, the injury may not bug the 34-year-old, who could have a strong night throwing the ball.

The Rams hold a small advantage from last year's statistics since Kupp outgained Diggs and four of their six best point totals came inside Sofi Stadium. Buffalo scored over 40 points on four occasions, but only one of those performances came outside of Orchard Park.

Kupp holds an edge over Diggs from last season, but an argument can be made that Allen Robinson II's presence would cut into his targets a bit, while Diggs has a bit more freedom in the Buffalo passing game with Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley gone.

No matter which way you break it down, a quarterback-wide receiver pairing must be used because of the potential scoring output each team possesses. Once you choose a Bills or Rams stack, you can then fill out the rest of your squad.

Add Depth from Rams' Wide Receiver Room

How the Rams utilize Robinson will be one of the primary things that fantasy football players of any kind pay attention to on Thursday night.

Robinson has been the top target in the two previous stops of his career, but now he is 1a at best next to Kupp.

The Rams could get big performances out of both top wide receivers and some depth players in the passing game if the trends carry over from the 2021 season.

Los Angeles had over 310 total yards on six occasions last season, with four of those coming inside Sofi Stadium.

Buffalo's five highest total yard concessions came away from home. The Bills gave up 552 total yards in the divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs and allowed over 375 total yards to the Chiefs in the regular season and to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The New York Jets and Tennessee Titans also produced over 360 total yards against the Bills.

Buffalo can certainly correct the issues from its 2021 road form, but that is something worth noting if you lean toward a Rams stack.

Robinson is the obvious choice to partner with Stafford and Kupp in a lineup stack, but you could also look to Ben Skowronek, Tutu Atwell or Lance McCutcheon as value plays. Skowronek is the favorite to take over the snaps that would have belonged to the injured Van Jefferson.

You could also try to squeeze in Tyler Higbee or one of the Rams' two running backs to partner Stafford and Kupp to maximize the points out of the Los Angeles offense.

Take Risk on Zack Moss

Zack Moss has the potential to be the difference-maker in DFS contests on Thursday night.

The Buffalo running back could earn more carries than Devin Singletary in the red zone and cash in on some valuable points if he crosses the goal line.

The Bills' running back situation has been difficult to figure out from a fantasy perspective because Moss and Singletary have split time over the last two years and some of their scores get taken away by Josh Allen's rushing skills.

Singletary led the team with seven rushing scores in 2021, but Allen was only one behind him on the leaderboard. Moss produced four rushing touchdowns of his own.

Moss may be asked to shoulder more of the load in the red zone because of his physical style of running. He is worth taking the risk on as the final roster member because he checks in at a $7,000 salary on FanDuel and a $3,000 salary on DraftKings.

His scoring potential is no secret, so he should have a decent roster percentage, but he could still provide value at a low salary if he finds the end zone because that would give you more flexibility with the other roster spots to add a third high-volume player.
