Report: Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno 4 to Be UFC Flyweight Title Fight
March 22, 2022
Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno are set to go head-to-head in the Octagon for a fourth time.
Ariel Helwani reported UFC has settled on Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno 4 as the next flyweight championship fight, with the current plan being the two fighting in July.
Figueiredo vs. Moreno has become one of the fiercest rivalries in UFC history over the last two years. The pair have fought to a 1-1-1 overall record, with Figueiredo winning their most recent matchup at UFC 270 in January.
“I want my manager to push for the fourth fight; that’s all I want right now,” Moreno told MMA Junkie in January. “I don’t want anything else. Obviously if it doesn’t happen, I’ll be pissed. I’ll say whatever I’ll say, and then the next day I’ll be focused on the opponent. But for me, it’s very clear what I want – I want the fourth fight.
“I want to fight Deiveson, and I want to finish this. I want there to be a clear winner in all of this.”
The (likely) final act of their rivalry should headline a pay-per-view event currently set for July 2 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. A women's flyweight bout between Miesha Tate and Lauren Murphy is also set to be part of the card.
Figueiredo said in January he hoped to fight Moreno again in Mexico or Brazil, but it appears UFC is planning to keep them stateside. Figueiredo hails from Brazil and Moreno from Mexico.
