Predictions

New Zealand's Zoi Sadowski-Synnott Wins Gold in Women's Snowboarding Big Air Final

After winning New Zealand's first-ever gold at the Winter Olympics in the women's snowboarding slopestyle event, Sadowski-Synnott is the favorite to take home gold in the women's snowboarding big air final Monday.

Sadowski-Synnott landed a 1080 spin with her last trick on the final run of the women's snowboarding slopestyle event, scoring 92.88 to capture gold, and she will be looking to follow up that performance with a similarly stunning showing Monday.

The New Zealander rose to fame at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games after winning bronze in the big air event as a 16-year-old, becoming her country's youngest Olympic medalist.

However, Austria's Gasser and Jamie Anderson of the United States figure to give Sadowski-Synnott a challenge. While Gasser went without a medal in the slopestyle event, her tricks give her gold medal potential in the big air final.

As for Anderson, she finished ninth in the slopestyle event, and it was arguably one of the biggest shocks of the Olympics. She will be expected to bounce back in the big air event.

Team USA Defeats Finland in Semifinal to Reach Gold-Medal Game

The U.S. women's ice hockey team is a gold-medal favorite at these Winter Olympics, and it should defeat Finland easily in the semifinal.

The United States and Finland also faced each other in the group stage, with the Americans taking a 5-2 victory. It was an impressive showing from the U.S., who outshot the Finns 52-12.

After going 2-1 in the preliminary round, with their only loss coming to Canada, the Americans defeated the Czech Republic 4-1 in the quarterfinals to reach the semifinals.

In addition to Kendall Coyne Schofield, Lee Stecklein and Hilary Knight are among Team USA's best players. The trio will have to put together their best performances of the tournament to help get the Americans into the gold-medal match, wherein they would meet Canada.

If the United States advances, it will be the fourth straight Olympics in which it will meet Canada in the gold-medal game. The Americans are looking to make it two straight after taking gold in 2018, while the Canadians won in Sochi in 2014 and Vancouver in 2010.
