The Seattle Seahawks added a boost to their backfield by selecting Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III with the 41st pick in the 2022 NFL draft on Friday.

Seattle's depth chart now looks like this:

RB: Chris Carson, Kenneth Walker III, Rashaad Penny, DeeJay Dallas, Travis Homer

After transferring from Wake Forest, Walker put together an impressive season in his lone year with the Spartans. He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy after carrying the ball 263 times for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns. He had rushed for 1,158 yards and 17 scores in two seasons combined at Wake Forest.

A 5'9", 211-pound speedster, Walker is known for his incredible burst and propensity for long runs. He had rushes of 96 and 94 yards in his college career.

Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department described him as "a bundle of energy with the ball in his hands," adding that he "can look frantic but never plays out of control and understands how to tempo his runs."

The addition of Walker gives Seattle a home-run hitter in its backfield who can take the ball to the house anytime he touches it.

Walker was not active in the passing game throughout his college career, recording just one receiving touchdown in three years. But he will likely help take pressure off Drew Lock, or whomever else will start a quarterback, in his first year.
