
Lakers' LeBron James Passes Oscar Robertson for 7th on NBA's All-Time Assists List
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James moved into seventh place on the all-time NBA assist list during Sunday's 127-119 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
The four-time MVP had seven assists in the loss, giving him 9,888 in his career to pass Oscar Robertson:
"He was one of the first really premier big guards that could do pretty much everything on the floor," James said of Robertson after the game.
Robertson is considered one of the best point guards of all time and was known to fill up the stat sheet, averaging 25.7 points, 9.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds per game across his 14 years in the NBA. James has been considered a small forward most of his career, but he has had similar production with averages of 27.0 points, 7.4 assists and 7.4 rebounds per game over his career entering the day.
The durability has also allowed LeBron to climb up to third all-time in points scored while ranking inside the top 100 in total rebounds, steals and blocks.
The next step as a passer will be to catch another big point guard in Magic Johnson, who had 10,141 assists in his career.
