NFL Rumors: 'Many' Believe Richard Sherman Will Wait Out Camp to Sign with Contender
Richard Sherman is still available on the free-agent market, but "many around the NFL" don't expect that to change anytime soon.
According to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, the expectation is that Sherman "is much more likely to wait out training camp" and then sign with a team that has a legitimate chance at winning a championship.
The 33-year-old is coming off of three-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers, but he only appeared in five games in 2020 because of a calf injury.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In 2019, he earned his fifth Pro Bowl nod and first since the 2016 season, the latter of which capped a streak of four consecutive selections.
Through 15 games with San Francisco in 2019, he finished with three interceptions for a total of 65 yards and a touchdown. He also posted 61 combined tackles and 48 solo tackles, his highest figures since 2012, en route to another Super Bowl appearance.
Early in May, Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee said Sherman had "preliminary" talks with the 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks, who drafted him in the fifth round in 2011.
He spent seven seasons with the franchise and came away with a Super Bowl victory in the process. Earning another is apparently high on his list of priorities for the tail end of his career.
That would likely rule out the Jets, a team that has sparked discussion regarding Sherman this offseason. Jets head coach Robert Saleh previously served as the defensive coordinator for the 49ers.
But if Sherman is seriously looking to earn another ring, the Jets might need some more time to get there, though signing Zach Wilson and moving on from Sam Darnold under center was a step in the right direction.
