Conor McGregor: Dustin Poirier Fight Is 'Off' After Exchange over Charity Donation

Tyler ConwayApr 12, 2021

Conor McGregor says his July rematch with Dustin Poirier is "off" after a Twitter exchange in which he was accused of not donating $500,000 to charity as promised ahead of their fight in January.

Poirier said McGregor's team ghosted his Good Fight Foundation after making several public declarations of a half-million-dollar donation.

For his part, McGregor acknowledges he refused to make the donation and seemed to insinuate Poirier's organization isn't upfront about where the money goes.

Following the back-and-forth, McGregor said the fight with Poirer was "off" and that he would find a new opponent for his July bout (note: contains language NSFW):

Poirier's charity seeks to serve underserved communities in the state of Louisiana.

The UFC has yet to confirm whether or not McGregor will be facing a new opponent at UFC 264 as he stated.
