Choose Football. Choose a team. Choose a vocation. Choose a family. Choose a stadium, choose bad catering, no leg room, whingeing glory seekers and cynical die-hards. Choose wing wizardry, midfield dynamos, and twenty a season strikers. Choose fixed interest season ticket repayments. Choose your seat. Choose your friends. Choose over-priced replica kits and matching accessories. Choose a reserve team striker on loan from a range of bigger clubs. Choose going out on the lash after the game and wondering who the hell you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing grand slam Sundays, stuffing junk food into your mouth. As the passion became a career quest, I realized I lost some innocence and spark to my writing. With that being decided upon, my mission has reverted back. I no longer write as a career goal, simply for the love of writing and the love of the sport. Simply a husband, a Dad and a passionate Sox fan who loves to write. I like it better like this.
At the end of the game, the kings and the pawns go in the same box. However, if I have the choice, I'd prefer to be a king.
I hope you enjoy my four picks of the day stories:

I have been here now for seven months, and I finally will write a proper bio (somewhat).
I originally became a sports fan by watching some major sporting events without realizing it (1998 World Cup final, 1999 Champions League final, 1999 MLB Playoffs etc), and from the excitement that I got from watching these games, I started to take a deeper interest into many different types of sports all throughout the world.
Around six months ago, I was searching Google when I came across an article that criticized Federico Macheda after he scored the winning goal for Manchester United over Aston Villa that Sunday, which was on this site. After seeing it and reading it, I realized that I could write something better than that, and that caused me to start my career here on B/R.
During my ...

Hi!
I'm Barney Corkhill, the Liverpool Community Leader for Bleacher Report! Obviously that means I'm a Liverpool fan and I look forward to celebrating the league title finally coming home this season! Other than football, I like playing and watching rugby, cricket, tennis and any other sports really!
In terms of music, The Beatles are by far the greatest band of all time (fact), and it just so happens that they come from the greatest city of all time as well (fact)! I play drums and can play a lot of the Beatles songs on the piano! Anyway, this is a sports site not a music site so I'll stop there! My favourite film is Green Street - It was good enough to almost turn me into a West Ham fan for an hour and it certainly had "I'm forever blowing bubbles" in my head rather ...

I am a 20-year-old student currently studying Legal Science and Italian in Galway. However upon completion of my BA degree I wish to pursue a career in journalism. I grew up in Hampshire but have lived in the motherland for the past 10 years. A loyal Liverpool fan since a toddler, I must admit to having a soft spot for my local side Southampton. I try to go to Galway United games as often as possible, weather permitting of course. An avid football fan, in addition I enjoy watching tennis, rugby, cricket and athletics. As an ex rower sporting heroes include Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Matthew Pinsent and James Cracknell. Football wise Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Fernando Torres are all inspirational to watch. I also have a keen interest in the fortunes of Andy Murray. Finally hope En...

I have been an avid fan of both Juventus and Italian Football since childhood. Always followed as closely as possible, reading as much as I can about the league, its players, coaches, teams and fans.
Bleacher Report gives me a chance to indulge my passion, and write my opinion on all things Calcio.
I follow other sports, particularly Tennis, Basketball and Formula One (forza la Scuderia!), but usually confine my writing to Football as I feel at my best writing about subjects I understand.
I hope my articles engage their readers, spark debate & most importantly, are enjoyed!

I’ve been here on B/R for quite some time and it’s time I put up a somewhat proper bio.
First of all, I’m originally from Bangladesh and not Italy (although I to take that as a compliment considering I simply love that country and almost everything to do with it), but I live in Stockholm, Sweden.
I’m currently studying for my Bachelor’s in business administration and I’m doing surprisingly well despite the fact that football usually takes up most of my time. I’m a passionate Juventusfan, but here on B/R I try to write about everything concerning Serie A :)
Apart from football and various obligations I’m also taking Italian classes and during the next football season I’m planning to watch my beloved Juventus live for the first time (I know, shame on me it’s taken so long, but I...

On May 16, 2009, I took a walk on to a stage and was given a green degree case (still waiting for the actual piece of paper in the mail, by the way) that signified the end of a five-year journey. The Charge Of The Light Brigade
by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Memorializing Events in the Battle of Balaclava, October 25, 1854
Written 1854
Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd ?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well...

Is that my name? Maybe, maybe not.
I am me, I am a person, a human being. Created for a reason. A reason I have no idea about. How sure am I ? I'm sure I'm me but I can't guarantee how human I am.
So far my life is as normal as it gets, but things change. My life could be a lie, maybe I don't exist. Maybe I am a figment of your imagination. How would you know?
What else can I tell you about myself. My life is normal...but am I? No would be the right answer.
I don't have a Y chromosome, but my brain feels different. I look like a girl, but I act different. I'm attracted to certain kinds of people, but they are never attracted to me.
I'm just a bit weird, just a bit crazy, just a bit wild. A whole nothing. A jack of trades, a queen of nothing.

The stubborn person that she is, she found a loophole by switching to goalkeeping. She has since realized that this new position is the most mentally challenging and physically demanding position she's ever played (this includes the time when she tried to take up wrestling as a kid because she thought the WWF looked fun). But hey, she loves a good challenge.

But then, Paston saved it.
Again, it was euphoria, more hugging strangers, dancing, and hoarse-throated chanting of unintelligible lyrics.
Injury time seemed to drag into an eternity before those magical peeps were heard from the officials whistle, like a Bacchian symphony signalling the dawn of an ancient mythical festival, the signal for the crowd to roar the triumph to the ends of the country.
We trooped out of the ground and into the night, elation in our eyes, smiles on our faces, and a warmth in our hearts that not even the coldest and strongest Wellington wind could blow away.
New Zealand are going to the World Cup for the second time ever and no matter what happens at the tournament, we have already won our final.

24 year old Andrew spent the last 3 months of the 2008/09 season as a Setanta football reporter for http://www.setanta.com/uk in the Scottish Premier League section. He writes match reports, gives out player ratings and covers the post match interviews every weekend from an SPL ground.
Sadly, the demise of Setanta means he will be looking for new employment during his final year of his BA Journalism degree at university but has something in the pipeline. He'll keep you all posted.

I am 28-year-old bubblehead world football lover. I am studying communications full-time at the University here in the city (SF) for another year before I systematically conquer the world (in an alternate universe) while I slowly fade away into obscurity (in this one).
I play a lot of soccer because I am comfortable expressing myself that way and I am good enough at it to be so.
If you want to read objective match reports, there are plenty of sites for that, and we all know and use them. However, there's only one person who sees the game as I do; that's me, and there's only one person who can express it; also me.
If you use the term "whilst", you may get a word from me.

I am a young Lebanese-Canadian writer who has great passion for football. I am the co-community leader for Serie A alongside my friend Daniel Penza on Bleacher Report.
I enjoy watching, talking, playing, reading and obviously writing about football. I am a huge fan of Serie A football and my big, impersonal mission on B/R is to hype Serie A and help B/R continue on growing.
My favorite kinds of writing include sarcastic humor which is best-flavored with a good story as a background for an article in order for the humor to have a clear objective which is to criticize a flow and try to provide a motive to bring change.
I hold rebellious ideas in the world of politics. Yet these tendencies are covered up with a modernized mentality and yet some classical beliefs that are essentia...

I'm a co-Community Leader for the San Diego Chargers section on B/R, as well as the Community Leader for the San Diego Padres. I'm also a somewhat prolific soccer writer, and I've been lucky enough to have four soccer articles published on foxsports.com:

I'm an Arsenal fan but I'll try to be as impartial as possible and write from a reporter's perspective.

I hope that I can add something to the website and in particular to its Liverpool section. Since I started contributing to Bleacher, I've had an article featured on Foxsports.com

I live in England. Currently studying for A-levels at King Solomon High School. I'm 18 years old and a devoted fan of Tottenham Hotspur FC.
Admittedly, I went through the alternating stages of 'Like football' and 'Don't like football'. Now I continue to like football so it's all good now :)
Started off by watching Manchester United in the Champions' League every week.
Then my uncle took me to my first Tottenham Hotspur match when I was 5 or 6.
4-0 against Watford. Ginola swivelling in and out of the Watford players like they were training cones.
I think it took off from there - I had officially become a Spurs fan.
As strange as it may seem though, some of my family are Arsenal...

I am currently finishing up my Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and History at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
