Writer bio
I've recently finished my Journalism Diploma in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. I enjoy all sports including football (soccer), rugby, cricket and motor racing. I love football and support Glasgow Rangers, along with my national side Scotland. I have played football at every possible level in South Africa, apart from the Premier Soccer League. This includes the National First Division (pro league) and the provincial 2nd & 3rd divisions which are semi pro.
I love writing both my opinion on things as well as writing in the more traditional type of newspaper journalism. My favourite topic is football (soccer), but I also dabble in other sporting codes.
I look forward to contributing more to this site.

Ron Johnson
Age: 27

Weight: 175
From: St. Louis, Missouri
If there was ever a man who lived to shake up the foundation on "perfection," it is the enigma known as Ron Johnson. For the past two years, Johnson has been rocking the nation with countless submissions that challenge not only the conscience, but also the sports mind. From his censor filled "My Two Cents" to his comical "Dem Apples," Johnson is living proof that no name wannabes can even have their name etched in history.

He is married (since 2003) with 2 beautiful daughters. He's currently working in the IT Department at a manufacturing company in Newburyport. He's a die-hard Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics fan.
Sometimes he even acknowledges the Bruins existence.

Currently in high school, I run cross-country and track (one-mile and two-mile). I have a deep love for all Minnesota sports, but I have a deeper love for my Creator, Jesus Christ. No, I don't limit my interests to Minnesota sports. I love all sports, but I tend to gravitate towards the NFL.
I may have to see someone about this, but I almost enjoy the NFL off-season better than the regular season...

Goaltending is my forte as I am currently (secretly) training for next season.
I am not talking about NHL here right off the bat, just relax hehehe...
But am sure will be looking for a pro training camp come next june/july/august. I am browsing different european leagues and north-american leagues right now.
A coaching position is of course kept for later, once my physical abilities as a player will be obsolete. I am 33 years old and if Hasek can do it at 42-43ish I damn sure can for as long as h...

"You have not yet learned that in this life you have to be like everyone else—the perfect mediocrity; no better, no worse. Individuality's a monster and it must be strangled in its cradle to make our friends feel confident. You know, I've often thought that the gangster and the artist are the same in the eyes of the masses. They are admired and hero-worshipped, but there is always present an underlying wish to see them destroyed at the peak of their glory."

I'm an Assistant Dean of Admissions in my mid-20s at a top liberal arts institution in upstate New York by day, and an avid sports junkie by night.
Growing up with a passion for all things Boston, Syracuse, and anything having to do with soccer, I have developed quite the unhealthy obsession with sports near and far.
I have benefitted from being immersed in some of the greatest sports rivalries from a young age(Celtics-Lakers, Red Sox-Yankees, Orange-Hoyas, to name a few). Although -admittedly- completely biased towards my teams, I have gained a great respect for such rivalries and the importance of their existence in all sports. It is through this understanding that I've gained a passion to share my experiences and views with all of you.

I just turned 25 years old. I was born in New York, but moved out to the Bay Area when I was seven years of age. I've remained here ever since, other than a brief five year stint at Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut (go Camels!)

Writer bio
With his aspirations of realizing a professional ping-pong career nothing more than a distant memory, Dave Finocchio lives a life of regret and anguish. Some day, he hopes to reopen 'Beach, Blanket, Bablyon' at the family business in San Francisco.
Dave is an avid contributor to Bleacher Report's NBA community, focusing most intensely on the NBA draft and player personnel decisions.
A recovering baseball fan, he spends his summers reading. The remaining 9 months of the year are devoted to Notre Dame football and basketball, the 49ers and the Golden State Warriors. Dave currently prefers his summers.

David is a sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis. He grew up in Cleveland, OH raised as a Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians fan. He enjoyed the Indians' dominance of the mid-90s and is currently "Witnessing" LeBron's greatness on the Cavs. The Browns are finally back on the path to success, which gives a reason to celebrate.
David is primarily a fan of his home state college, The Ohio State Buckeyes. College Football is his passion. In an ideal world where money nor time mattered, he would tour the country like ESPN Gameday and watch a different game every week.
The best sports book David has ever read is H.G. Bissinger's "Friday Night Lights." More telling than the glamour of playing in front of 10,000 screaming fans every Friday, the book opens one's e...

I'm currently a Communications major at the University of Akron with a bad addiction to sports.
My favorite sports are football and baseball. I'm a die hard Indians fan, but as you can tell that's pretty much the only Ohio team I like, that doesn't really make me popular around these parts. Not that I had a shot at that to begin with.
If you want to read more of my thoughts(and ones that are even more ridiculous), and hate on me some more, check out the link to my Sporting News Blog @ http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/npcPronk29
I also run a complete blog that covers everything Cleveland Indians. Check out the my website link on the side if you hate me or like the Indians.
Oh if you hate me, then I love you, because without you... Okay I wasn't sure where that was going. I l...

Growing up in Idaho, I could have become any number of things--a farmer, a redneck, a NASCAR fan, an environmentalist. Somehow, I settled on writing.
In Seattle, I earned my degree in journalism from Seattle Pacific, and I covered high school sports for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The big city was a far cry from my humble upbringing, what with its culture and population and traffic. But if anything, it made me a more well-rounded person and a learned writer.
My experiences shape my writing more than anything else, and I always try to put my personality in everything I do. I like to think that my stories are a reflection of me, and I hope that they allow readers to get to know me better. For a Clif's notes version of me, check out these little known facts:
1. I like the Patr...

I am a lifelong Chicagoan who roots for the Chicago sports teams, not surprisingly, and the Cubs in particular. I am a sports fan in general, but I gravitate toward all things baseball, and as a Cubs fan, am no stranger to suffering. I like to write, so look for some thoughts from me in the near future.
I love hot stove league, and enjoy talking baseball 365 days a year (I take the extra day off during leap years).

Dave is a lifelong sports fan, burrito connoisseur, and founder of Bleacher Report. Growing up in Northern California, Dave became an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, and San Jose Sharks. He played high school football for the division champion Menlo Knights but retired after 2 concussions as a 160 lb defensive end.
Dave matriculated at the University of Southern California around the same time Pete Carroll started coaching, and soon thereafter the Trojans won multiple National Championships. However, Carroll and the Trojans haven't won any championships since Dave graduated. Coincidence?
Dave's many brushes with greatness include taking an improv acting class with Mike Williams, Frostee Rucker, and Steve Smith, multiple run-i...

I have been writing previews, trivia, info-breaks, game recaps, trade and roster information and other hockey articles for various fan sites. I am an avid hockey and sport fan, and have been writing articles to fill the information void that exists regarding all sorts of topics from the hockey world. I write because I love the game. I am a Canadian from an English/Scottish family, and as a consequence my sporting tastes run the gamut from football (soccer), hockey, basketball, cricket (not that I claim to fully understand it!), CFL/NFL football, baseball etc. Baseball and footy were my early favourites as I spent hours outdoors playing and practising in the yard. In school I found mates who played hockey and began my love affair with the Canadian game. Once out of primary school I a...
