HEY GUYS, IT LOOKS LIKE I WON'T BE KEEPIN UP TOO MUCH ON HERE THIS SUMMER, I AM AT HOME AND DONT HAVE INTERNET, I AM DOING THIS FROM THE LIBRARY RIGHT NOW.

Stash is my homeboy!!!

This is old news, but probably the BEST prediction I ever made.

I posted this on Facebook on 3:31pm Friday, Oct 5, 2007, after game 1

"In the midst of the Postseason, I want to throw out my predictions.

NYY vs. CLE

Cleveland in 4.

Sure the Yankees have the so-called history behind them where they've won after losing game one. Well history doesn't mean a damn thing. The Yankees may have the offense, but their bullpen is in shambles, A-Rod's postseason track record is atrocious, and cannot carry a team throughout the whole playoffs, and the Rotation is a big question.

Game 1

Wang, the supposed ace of the staff was tagged for 8 ER in just 4 and 2/3. Sure Sabathia set down the lineup, but in a game with 2 staff aces 3 runs should generally be a win. The thin Yankee bullpen gave up 4 runs on top the 8 from Wang, while Cleveland’s gave up just 1 hit. The Yankees have an all-star lineup, but they can’t depend on the long ball and A-Rod all the time. They’re a team that don’t like to play small ball, and cannot manufacture runs. Prime example, bases loaded, 1 out, and couldn’t get more than 1 run.

Cleveland over New York

Game 2

Petitte has nasty stuff, but his control has been erratic lately and was tagged for 8 runs his last outing vs BAL, but he still got the win, because its BAL. While rookie Fausto Carmona 19-8 with an ERA almost a full run less than Petitte, has beaten Johan Santana 3 times. I expect a lower scoring game in game 2, because Petitte is a big game pitcher and has a lot of postseason experience, but the rookie has proven that he can stifle powerful lineups.

Cleveland over New York

Game 3

Clemens is old, and is only good for maybe 5 innings and they will have to turn it over to a bullpen that can't hold its own, except for Rivera who does struggle in the Postseason. Clemens’ fastball isn’t as electric as it used to be, and his numbers on the season definitely aren’t Clemens like. However, Westbrook is still trying to find himself after a mediocre regular season. He posted a 3-3 record in his last 10 starts and been tagged with double digits in hits in 3 stars during that stretch.

New York over Cleveland

Game 4

The Yankees Rotation is in desperate need when they have to take a veteran perennial 10 game winner like Mussina out of the rotation because he lost confidence in his pitches in the middle of the season. He’s been hot in September but the postseason hasn’t been all that nice to him posting a 2-4 record in 40.1 IP and an ERA of 4.01 in 7 Division series starts with the Yankees. Paul Byrd may not have electric stuff, but the way he attacks hitters and gets ahead in counts will show the Yankees why he is a legit 15 game winner.

  1. Great! Do you have an e-mail?

  2. Hey Ravuth,

I am going to copy JJ Stankevitz's idea and host a Minnesota Twin's community question and answer session. I will try to get the questions to you by Thursday or Friday, and I will compile and post the article by Monday on every week.

If you would like to be a part of this, either shoot me an e-mail (andymacky_999@hotmail.com), or post a note on my bulletin board.

    Thanks in advance!

    ~Andrew

  3. What do you think the Twin's should do with the hole they have in their rotation thanks to Slowey?

  4. Thanks for the comment on my Twin's piece! I hope to see you around the Twin's community again soon!

By the way, who would've thought that Gomez would've drawn a walk last night? I'm still amazed.

If you haven't, check out Sinker's blog over at the Star Tribune. Funny stuff...here's the link:
