  Depends on several things. IP addresses are changed when data is traveling from router to router, most of the time. If they are within the same area you are in, they could track you down, but that would mean that they are close by. If they got your IP they could get your mac address, and with that they can track you anywhere. If you are with a large corperation, you will have two different IP addresses that will be unique to the coperation, the inside address and outside. If the person knows how to identify what part of the IP address is part of the company, they can track down to a general area. From there it would require a bit of hacking to track you all the way down as they will need to know the inside address.
  
  IP addresses come and go. But MACs are forever. Both of their datas are stored for a limited time.
  
  So Getting up addresses through hacking is hell yes impossible.
  You have to have PERMISSION TO TRACK THOUGH ISP, and it MUST TAKE A SERIOUS REASON TO DO SO IN COURT. SO YOU THINK YHE JUDGE WOULD TAKE A SILLY REASON FROM BR? LOL.
  
  And plus you haven't even spam or trolled that much people and I have barley seen people's cries about you.

  And yes Yes, they can track down your actual address, but they'd have to go through your ISP and it takes a court order to do that. There would have to be a legitimate reason provided to a court as to why there was need, e.g., evidence of a crime.
  
  You can still likely contact your ISP and request a different IP address if you're concerned about someone targeting your computer for some reason.
  
  Someone actually can hack another computer if they know the IP address and it's static, but if you have a modern machine with basic security software present, it's not usually going to be easy. On the other hand, if you have someone who knows what they're doing and they have your static IP, they'll probably eventually get in to some extent if they're dedicated.
  
  It would help to know more what the situation is, but if you haven't done anything blatantly illegal, you don't need to worry about someone getting your physical address. And if you think you're being targeted by someone, just contact your ISP and request a change of IP address.
  
  
  So basically if you didnt do a crime/have a laptop/ court order, it's clearly impossible.

  Yes and no. By tracing your IP address all they can get is the location of the internet service provider (ISP) that has rights to that address. So if you're using a local only ISP then they can get an idea of where you live. However, that is where the trail ends for a normal citizen. But if a law enforcement agent has some reason of finding you, they can trace you by your IP address. They do the same thing as before and trace what ISP gave out the address, then they ask for the ISP's records and find out who was using the address at the time they are looking for.
  
  
  So unless you're doing a serious crime, yes.
  If its a website like ESPN and BR, no. It's clearly impossible.
  And plus people that work in the ISP cannot track you down at home. And plus workers at ISP are monitored at their stations so it's pretty obvious that this knicker raged no life won't find you. Unless you give your information out, he's hassling you.
