Under the name of Raider Card Addict, Joseph Budd has been covering the Oakland Raiders for several years, now presently working as a featured Columnist. Joe, have you ever watched game tape on Jason Campbell? He always leans backwards right before the snap and it allows the defense to jump the snap. The exception to this is when he is in the shotgun…for obvious reasons.
He is exceptional in play action as his ball control (good hands) really masks the location of the ball during fake hand-offs. He also pitches and shovel passes very well when he needs to. However, the pre-snap lean is very consistent.
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it so pronounced, before except at the youth football level. Maybe somebody should tell Paul Hackett.
