SNOOPY's Lineup
SNOOPY's Bio
My Al Davis take is still the same but...
I like Cable and I want to give him my support. This guy really bleeds Silver and Black yet is not a brown nose Rah Rah guy. Cables is a hard nosed, run around in his shorts, doing it himself type of guy. This dude not only won't (F) around... He won't let you (F) with him ether... ! I luv that!
Don't get me wrong I still feel Kiffin was railroaded. Yet Cable has done an amazing job in the worst of conditions! How many would or have survived half of what he went through yet bam...
Homboys not only still standing, he's come out stronger than when he went in... That's impressive!
Cable has earned his metal and earned my trust! Hard thing to do considering what I still think of Al so Cable has all of my support. Not that he needs it to function yet as a fan, I believe he actually appreciates the Nation cheering him on.
Hoping for a good season 2009
And yes ROONEY, there is only ONE Nation... That's the RAIDER NATION!!!!

Hi,
Check out my new article on Madden's return to the Raiders? Let me know what you think..http://bleacherreport.com/articles/160953-john-madden-possible-return-to-the-silver-and-black

Sweet Jesus Denver got dismantled. I thought the Pats had a chance because of the Broncos' swiss cheese defense but 41-7? good lord. With that massacre, the division leader is 4-3... maybe the Raiders aren't so far out of it after all. Good luck.

No offense but if you needed Warren Sapp to tell you that Al Davis was insane then you must've been in some serious denial man. But seriously though, the 9ers are a dream matchup for the Pats. After getting carved up on the ground by MIA, what better way to get back on your feet than by going against Mike Martz, and his 15 running plays per game. Offensive genius my ass, anybody can look like a genius with Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Torry Holt, and Isaac Bruce... hell I could've been the offensive coordinator for that team and still put up 24-35 points per game. Good luck against the Saints, that swiss cheese defense may be just what the doctor ordered, then again, Oakland's secondary better start living up to expectations or it could be a long day.

I really feel for ya with the Raiders. Niners aren't far behind.

hey, don't worry about spell check. I don't do it on comments. I make errors. Oh, well. Big deal. Thanks for writing from your Blackberry.

I wonder how many Oakland fans feel like you do. I bet there are a lot. I haven't had a chance to speak to my other friends who are Raider fans. I agree with you, though. Too many coaches in too few years. Maybe if they lose income, they'll get a GM who can manage effectively. But, you are probably correct: It won't get better until Albert is gone.

yeah, that guy leaves something to be desired. He just hops around BR and insults 49er and other fans. He's really not funny, but he seems to be able to entertain himself, which is fine.

hey, thanks for writing back. I'm gonna read your posts in a few minutes. I'll give you my e-mail. I'm all over the Internet and was in quite a public position as a newspaper editor for years and years, so I'm used to hate mail. My e-mail is glennfrancosimmons@yahoo.com. E-mail me any time.

Yeah, you hit it on the, Charles. I see your points. You are correct, not even Lombardi could excel in that. I see your point about Kiffin maybe not being the answer but that the way Davis runs the team means that a coach is almost set up not to succeed. I think that's what I understand you saying. I just wish it gets settled. Maybe the "silent" partners in the Raiders need to remove Davis by persuading him to give control to a good GM. I don't know, but you're right, it is a real mess. thanks for writing. I hope your meeting went well.

Hey, thanks for considering me a friend, Charles.
I hear your pain. I think he should just pay him a settlement of some sort. Maybe not the total amount, but something. I agree, that would be the decent thing to do.
Then, I would look for a real coach and also a general manager after this last debacle. Although we disagree about Kiffin, I see your piont.
I think Al had some facts on his side, like talking to Kiffin when Kiffin said they hadn' talked. To me, it sounds like Kiffin lied. Then, when asked on ESPN about that specific allegation, Kiffin said he couldn't respond to all of Al's charges, yet he responded to several, but not that one. I've been in journalism my whole life and I think I can read people. I think Kiffin is lying. Why did he answer other questions and then beg off on that one? Because he is lying. To me, if you lie to your boss, you are toast, even if you think your boss is delusional.
I hear you on that one. I've always thought Davis was a weird bird, but yesterday, he came off as making sense. I watched most of the news conference.
I think Kiffin made a huge mistake in going to media, especially when it appears he is lying through his teeth.
Plus, I don't think he is NFL coaching material yet. Doesn't have the maturity.
What do you think about Ryan? I don't think he is head coach material. Cable may be great with the guys, but for head coach in the NFL on a team nearly wrecked from infighting? I don't think he's the answer, either.
My friends call me Scoop, my friend.
I really feel for you, since my Niners are run by a pack of idiots, too. If they stay around as long as Davis, they'll one-up even him, because at least Davis knows something about football, which my pansy owners don't. They are Bay Area transplants and don't understand the legacy of Ronnie Lott, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, etc. They don't get it because they are pathetic. They should sell the team before they move it out of the Bay Area which, despite 49er sycophants saying is impossible, is a real possibility any time you have an ancient stadium, a receding fan base, a losing team and an awful coach and general manager.

Hey, Snoopy. I just saw your note to me. I hate Dallas, too, like I used to hate the Rams, but since they moved from L.A., it hasn't been as great a rivalry with the Niners.
I felt the same way you do about Davis and Kiffin, until today when I watched the old man on TV. He came across, to me, as credible and Kiffin sounds like a donkey's tale.
But, you know the Raiders better than me. You probably won't like my last column.
You guys have a good team. I think you need the right mixture of coaching and players getting motivated. Hopefully, thhis circus will pass.
I know you are a true football fan when you keep track of Lombardis. I hope Dallas isn't the first with six. I'd rather see Pittsburgh do it and I'm spitting nails saying that. I'll probably be dead before the Niners return to the Super Bowl. The Yorkville Family Circus pales to Davis.

You might want to read my latest column as of 3:30 on Tuesday. It's about the Raiders. I think you'll like it.

Hey, Snoop. Haven't heard from you in a while. I'm watching Al Davis now. I missed most of it, but I gotta hand it to Davis. He made a good case for himself. I hope your team gets back to winning, even though you know I hate those friggin' Raiders. The NFL needs a good Raiders team. Best of luck the rest of the season.
As for all those people who say Al Davis doesn't have a passion for football anymore, I think they need to shut up.
