    I understand your frustration, Marc. Again, please do keep in mind that you can always revert back to the original version of an article...and that editors really are trying to help (as I think is indicated by the contrite tone of Scott's first message to you).     Thanks for your input here, Marc.

    Your concerns about the editorial process are valid and much appreciated. As you noted, we're working on ways to make the system more flexible to meet the needs of all writers (including those who don't want their work edited at all). I'd welcome any other insight you might have on the subject.

    That said, I do want to emphasize that every B/R editor will ALWAYS be trying to improve your work. A failure in this department won't be for lack of effort, or the product of any sort of malicious intent. You certainly don't have to accept the revisions if you don't like them, but I would encourage you to at least be respectful of those people who make them.

    You're right that B/R's collaborative model is unique. The editing process is a selling point for many of the network's writers...but that doesn't mean everyone has to like and/or use it. Again, never hesitate to revert back to your original work after an unsatisfactory edit. I'm hopeful that we can meet your expectations by the end of the month. If not, best of luck to you down the road.

    Marc,

    My apologies for the misunderstanding. If you don't want your articles edited, I'd suggest that you leave a note to that effect in the Editor Feedback box on the right-hand side of the Article History page. Otherwise, there's no way for editors to know to leave your work alone.

    Also note that you always reserve the right to override any revisions made to your work. (I noticed that the "NASCAR History" headline hasn't been changed since I edited it.) To make changes, you can click on the "Edit This Article" link on the right-hand side of the live article page. Please let me know if there's any confusion.

    Finally, I'd encourage you to remember that we're all on the same team here. My only goal was to help attract readers to your article. If you don't want me to do that, I'm happy to stay away--but I hope you'll at least recognize that all B/R editors will always have your best interests at heart.

    In any event, thanks very much for sharing your work, and please do keep the good stuff coming.

    Please do me a favor and stop leaving comments on what I right, since you are so right about everything, and just can't seem to understand what I am righting about do me a favor stop be so ruded. My artical about race was just that, I never said Juan, Dario, and Patrick went thru the "Diversity" program but if you think those drivers being in the sport dosen't help in a huge way, to the point I know NASCAR use's them to help with it your out of your league. I have worked this sport from the pits to marketing, go try to match wits with somebody else please sir!!!

    Hi Marc,

    I'd like to apologize for any misunderstanding here. You see, I actually work with the site to edit articles and help authors get the most reads possible. By "front-loading" key words in headlines, your article stands the best chance of syndication.

    That said, you as the author have complete control over your work, and should feel free to undo any changes I make (or any editor makes). It's undeniable that you, the author, have the best understanding of your writing.

    And you're as clueless as Scott.

    In his case he couldn't understand the difference between editing for spelling and grammatical errors and editing an article that changes the entire tone of an article, then.... when specifically given the posts location and what he did was dumb enough to claim he had no knowledge of the fact.

    You, by stating you would report any comment of mine whether "offensive" or not only goes to prove one thing, someone needs to call you a Whammmbulance!

    Yeah, it was a problem for a while, at least for the single idiot noted in this thread who decided after less than two months here and being given the "keys" he could totally change the tone of an article.

    I suggested the powers that be allow editing in stages with the lowest only given the ability to edit for spelling and grammor but they blew that off I fuess and every ton dick and harry can edit anything.

    To be honest I haven't posted much here in three weeks. One I have consistently had problems editing my own posts as they are imported from FT.

    And secondly and more important I caught someone from another blog scraping a post here that had been also posted at FT.

    They posted the entire article on their blog without giving credit. I noted the problem with the head honchos with little outward concern shown other than a perfunctory "oh yeah, we'll watch out for that."
