Well, first and foremost, I am a DIE HARD Memphis Tigers fan. I was lucky enough to be born in the great Bluff City, but only lived there until I was 4, when my family and I moved to Dunedin, FL. Although the distance has changed, my support of the Tigers is unwavering. I was born a Memphis Tiger and will die a Memphis Tiger, God willing a long time from now. Other than taking in all the Memphis information I can handle, I love to play basketball, go fishing with pops, travel or just chill out with my wife and friends. My other favorite sports teams are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays, Orlando Magic and Florida Gators. Don't get confused by my inclusion of the Florida Gators in that list, as the Memphis Tigers will always be #1 in my book. Anyone who lives in a state with such collegiate rivalrys as Florida has understands that, from a young age, you have to pick a side and stick with them. I will root for the Gators, unless of course, they are playing Memphis.
Cole hasn't written anything yet.
Missed the AAU tourney. I was actually focused on a different event that was eventually canceled, and I didn't have time to get in good with the people who were running the replacement, whereas I had gotten an exclusive interview with the organizer of the canceled affair.
I haven't been by the Finch Center. I need to make time to do so!

Dude, I don't know WHAT to think about Latavious!
All I know for sure is. . . nothing! Been digging like a mad man, to no avail. As of late yesterday, no official announcement had been made, and my sources say the same thig you indicated: that Paz had not even spoken directly to LW about it yet. Bad sign. I know if I had news that was going to disappoint someone who had worked VERY hard to secure my services, I would avoid them, too.
John and I are meeting for lunch, maybe he will have something new for me then. But I'm striking out.

My man criggsy! How's it going?
Yeah, I know, it's been forever since I was at Trip's, but I'm planning on changing that. Had a couple of kids to see what you guys think about them. . . apparently, The Kid isn't quite done recruiting for 2009 just yet!!
I'm still hanging in like a loose tooth, my friend! Hope you're doing well, too?
See you at Trip's in the next day or so!

Cole, what's up brother?
I odn't know about king of Memphis sports reporting! lol (Though I do like the sounds of that.)
But yeah, I love just about all sports. The Masters gig was something that I did not plan. I was asked on Wednesday evening if I would like to cover the Masters and have it linked to CBSSports.com, and DUH, that was a no-brainer - of course I would!
The tennis collaboration began as a lark when 2 of my favorite writers had a bit of a debate about something or other, and I mused that it would be interesting to get them both to discuss Andy Murray. BOOM! They both respect my skills as a writer and immediately agreed to the project.
I've got another tennis article in the works, and a baseball piece that I just started.
Meanwhile, I am getting cozy with folks at the U of M and hiring a couple of interns to help me cover Tiger athletics even more fully. In a few months, we will be breaking scoops on Rivals.
I woke up one day, and my consulting business was drying up, so I decided to make a living using advice that YOU, among dozens, had given me: writing. I'm getting closer. Create enough stir here and no telling what other paid gigs I can dig up!!

Hi Cole! I'm recovering a bit, day-by-day.
But of course we're all still in shock from John Calipari leaving us for Kentucky. I think it’s a good lesson for fans of all college basketball teams:

Please give it a read when you have a minute. I’d love to get your thoughts! Thanks.

What's up Cole, how are you? Well, a little heartbroken (like me) but other than that? lol
I wrote a very personal, hopefully heart warming account of my coming to grips with that Memphis loss in the NCAA Sweet 16.
